**This Contest is Now Closed (I know, I know, I said it would close Friday but I changed my mind based on the overwhelming response – I’ll announce a winner tomorrow morning!**
In honor of the fact that it is my Bosch-loving, baby sister’s birthday today (Happy Birthday, Emmers!)
and the fact that I am constantly waxing poetic about my love for my Bosch and manage to use it almost every day
and because I heart each and everyone of you and the support you give me
and because it is basically time to kickoff the marathon Holiday season
and because my husband always teases me that I would save my beloved Bosch first and foremost in a fire…
…well, in honor of all of that, I’m giving away a New Universal Plus Bosch Mixer to one of you!
Isn’t she a beaut? You won’t believe how your roll-making, bread-making, cookie-making world will spin out of control with this machine.
To enter, leave me a comment (only one per person, please!) telling me what your favorite holiday food is (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Kwanzaa, President’s Day…whatever holiday floats your boat).
As for me, I’d have to go with this pomegranate cheesecake or these gingerbread blondies or these holiday morning buns or this amazing 2-hour turkey. Hmm, I guess I’m having a hard time narrowing it down. Can’t wait to hear your favorites!
A winner will be announced Friday morning at 6:00 a.m. Wednesday morning at 6:00 a.m.!
May the force of the Bosch be with you.
{Pssst: This contest isn’t sponsored by Bosch or any company that sells them. It’s simply because I don’t know where I would be without my Bosch and I want one of you to have one, too!}

Definitely stuffing! I want for it all year long!
Paula Deen’s Symphony Brownies. Yum. Yum. Yum.
My would have to be pumpkin pie, or turkey.
I LOOOOOVE stuffing!! I would eat it every day if I could convince my husband to make it for me, but no such luck!
It’s got to be this: http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/19222/peach+and+passionfruit+pavlova+roll
So easy and so so delicious!!
That is easy…..Cornbread dressing. My family knows how to make it!!!!!
Thanksgiving feast is my favorite… Oh, narrow it down to one dish?
How can I? Choose between my Cornbread stuffing and my green beans with bacon? My Garlic Mash potatoes and my Broccoli au gratin? Thin juicy slices of turkey breast smothered in gravy vs the cheesecake finale?
Sorry, Just can’t pick one! I love it all!! LOL!
My favorite would be my grandmother’s chocolate pudding pie (definitely _not_ made from a JELLO mix.)
Mmmmmm. . . definitely stuffing. Made with cornbread and sausage and chopped celery– yum!
Our fave is Spicy Chicken Wat on Ethiopian Christmas. It brings back such great memories, warms your soul (and tongue) and is just delicious!
http://babyboltes.blogspot.com/2009/06/crock-pot-wat.html
Hmmmm, I’m still a relatively new cook, so I don’t have a huge list of favorites yet. But I’m enjoying finding them! I always make my Mom’s cheeseball for pretty much every holiday. I also always make Paula Deen’s Pumpkin Gooey Butter Cake for Thanksgiving. It can be found here: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/paula-deen/pumpkin-gooey-butter-cakes-recipe/index.html
Homemade whole wheat bread. A Thanksgiving requirement.
My favorite is my Grandma’s Ho Ho Cake. Mmmmmmm. I still can’t make it just like hers, but I’ll keep aspiring
My favorite is pumpkin roll with cream cheese filling!
Green bean casserole and stuffing!
Homemade cranberry sauce!
I have to choose one favorite? I guess it would be lasagna for Christmas. pans and pans of lasagna…
Broccoli Rice casserole… yummy!!
Butterscotch Pie….Yum!
Sugar Cookies. The holidays just make me want to bake so sugar cookies always remind me of Christmas and of course they are delicious.
Oh, so many ways to feel the love!!! The first thought that came to mind was pecan pie. YUM! But I also adore frosted sugar cookies and fudge. Can you tell – sugar is a serious problem around here?!? LOL
My favorite food around the holidays is Christmas cookies. I love baking cookies and can’t wait to start this years!!
definitely stuffing and cranberry sauce…yum!
Seriously?! You’re giving one of us this mixer? Awesome! Well, I always look forward to glazed ham on Easter. Yum!
Oh! You are the BEST!!! My favorite is hard to choose because of your website but I will have to go with pumpkin cake topped with homemade whipped cream.
I LOVE turkey with home-made cranberry sauce!
Yams and stuffing for sure!!!
Gotta love Bosch! I love my mom’s apple pie- she makes it Dutch style with all that yummy struesel, and then she drizzles it with caramel and serves it a la mode. So good!
Praline Pumpkin Pie with vanilla whipped topping!
Ginger molasses cookies!
My mom’s mustard sauce. She doesn’t like to cook, but she can do amazing things with some vinegar and mustard powder. My husband and I now amaze his family with it each year!
Fudge. I love it, but it is one of those things that only gets made for Christmas (and maybe that is just as well because it is oh so healthy.)
Probably Pumpkin Crunch – yum!
Oh man I have never had a “real mixer” … I don’t know what I would do if I was the super lucky person that won this baby!! But my favorite dish?? Ummmm….a lot of people have said stuffing, so I won’t rave over my mom’s homemade stuffing that she makes from scratch – when we were kids, grinding up gizzards was the highlight of getting ready for Thanksgiving!
So, I am going to go with the little green Cornflake Wreaths with red hots that we make every Christmas along with all our cookies.
I absolutely love the English toffee that my family buys at Christmas time ever year. It’s amazing!
Too many great foods to choose from! I would say homemade rolls and pies, all types of pies!
Oh, boy this is on my christmas list this year! My favorite holiday food would have to be a cream cheese pumpkin roll! Yum!
As of last year, America’s Test Kitchen’s Pumpkin Roll.
Pick a favorite? Holiday foods are all so wonderful! The entire Thanksgiving spread as a whole is SO good. Stuffing, turkey, fudge, pumpkin pie… OK, now I’m feeling hungry
Turkey, dressing, sweet potato and cranberry relish all on one fork. I love Thanksgiving Day, there’s something about it that makes me feel so cozy. Thanks for being so generous.
I love your website and I have tried a lot of your recipes with great success. I would have to say that my all time favorite is Pumpkin Pie with lots of whipped cream………..yummmm
Well, I am going veer off the typical holiday food for Thanksgiving and Christmas and going for our Valentines Home Fondue Dinner we do every year. That is the holiday food I get SO excited about. We have a Mexican CheeseFondue Course, and a meat/chicken/seafood course in Coq Au Von Fondue, and of course the WORLD’S BEST Chocolate Fondue with lots of yummy dippers. To get into the spirit, we have lots of “rules”…i.e., if you drop you dipper into the fondue, you have to give the person on your left a kiss. SO fun and SCRUMPTIOUS!!!
The beauty of holiday cooking is that you don’t have to choose just one favorite! (Because I don’t think I could…) But I do love making truffles, christmas cookies and cinnamon rolls just about as much as I love eating them…
My favorite has to be either stuffing or pecan pie. I can’t decide between the two.
If I had to choose—it would have to be roasted turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes with gravy over the whole thing! mmmm.
Turkey and stuffing! Mmmm…. I can’t wait till Thanksgiving!
I love holiday foods. It is hard to choose between my favorite dressing for Thanksgiving, a Danish Pastry in the shape of a Candy Cane for Christmas, Pumpkin Gingerbread Trifle for Halloween. All so good. It’s no wonder that I have to do a lot of walking during the holiday season.
My favorite holiday food is spinach gratin. I make it every year for Christmas dinner, and I serve it with beef tenderloin with maderia gravy, mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables. I begin the meal with a holiday inspired salad with dried cranberries, and serve ganache covered cherry cheesecake for dessert. Heaven on a plate! Why do I only make this meal on Christmas?
Thanks for giving us the opportunity to win this Bosch mixer, Melanie!
such a tough question! i think that my favorite holiday food is pumpkin dessert (can’t decide which i like best because i generally love them all)
I would have to say Thanksgiving stuffing!
It’s hard to choose just one. I think it would have to be Green Bean Wrap Ups, all full of garlicky, buttery goodness.
Ooooh…that’s a tough call. I would have to say my mom’s pumpkin cheesecake. Love it.
Thanks!
My mom’s pecan cinnamon rolls. They are incredible. Every morning during the week of Christmas we eat several with a mug of hot chocolate in front of the fire. Best moments…
I could not live without my parmesan creamed corn casserole at Thanksgiving, but I make it for dinner all the time even when it’s not Thanksgiving.
We make Gyoza (the Japanese form of potstickers) each Christmas Eve. I LOVE THEM.
Favorite holiday food – has to be apple cranberry stuffing! Delicious! and I look forward to it every year!
I LOVE Thanksgiving food. Nothing beats Turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, homemade rolls ,and sweet potato casserole. And then just think about all the fun extras you can add on to that, and then top it all off with dessert! I’m so excited just thinking about it!
well, my husband usually does the meals on holidays. I would have to pick whatever the dessert is, usually pie.
It has to be my great great grandmother’s recipe for butterscotch pie. It is more Thanksgiving to me than any turkey.
I love pumpkin flavored things. My favorite is probably the eggnog pumpkin pie I make for Thanksgiving!
Tough one! I would have to say my Mom’s homemade stuffing with homemade gravy poured over it! Yum!
ohmyohmyohmy! How awesome of you.
All the goodies- homemade candy- popcorn balls- cakes- cookies- etc…
its what makes me soooo sweet
I cannot wait for my favorite cranberry grand marnier torte. So yummy!
Only one…but there are so many…I love turkey.
My favorite holiday treat is something we call “Christmas Crack”. It’s just a sweet Chex mix with Golden Grahams, almonds and coconut but it is so good and SO addicting!!
My favorite holiday food is pecan pie. Yummy!
I love pumpkin cake with pecan coconut topping. Yum!
Apple pie:) I love making it!
You are so generous with your time, recipes and give aways. I’ve spent the last year making your recipes 5-6 times a week. My friends think it’s a Julie/Julia thing. The NEW Bosch Universal Plus Mixer would be like meeting Julia;) Thanks again for sharing such delicious recipes!!
I adore pumpkin pie. Actually, I love fall most of all because all of the pumpkin-type desserts are available again. Yum!
I think the holiday ham is my favorite. I look forward to it all year long. Thanks for a great blog!
We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE our grandma’s stuffing slathered with lots and lots of gravy. Yummy.
My favorite holiday food is a pressed cinnamon cookie called a bratzle. The recipe has been passed down from generation to generation and you need a special iron to make them but they are the quintessential smell and taste of the holidays to me!
I love my dad’s candied yams! I look forward to them all year!
Pecan Pie. ummm
My favorite holiday food are the cinnamon rolls my Mom always makes on Christmas morning.
My favorite is my Thanksgiving mashup. Here’s how I eat Thanksgiving dinner (and the way I do it, it’s all just one big glop of delicious food).
On the bottom of the plate, we have turkey, followed by (in order): stuffing, cranberry sauce, corn, topped with mashed potatoes. Then, after everything is assembled, we mix it all together and eat it up. (And then sleep for the rest of the day.)
Cranberry Pie. Perfect at Thanksgiving, Christmas, or just about anytime!
My favorite holiday recipe is my husband’s Grandma’s macaroni and cheese. The first time I had it I thought I had died and gone to heaven!
My husband makes the best cranberry orange pie! It’s a bit tart and goes perfectly with vanilla ice cream. We buy extra cranberries and freeze them for later in the year in case a craving hits.
My favorite is cranberry tea.
I love anything with sugar in it, but especially pumpkin chocolate chip cookies when the weather turns in the fall – there’s just something so satisfying about the change of the season and the beginning of the holidays. Thanks so much for your site – we’ve LOVED every recipe I’ve tried
Pies are really my favorite. We usually make 8-10 and they turn out delicious!
My favorite thing about the holidays is Thanksgiving turkey.
Oh my!! I love Thanksgiving and Christmas meals so my fav during this time would have to be sweet potatoe casserole, collard greens and pecan pie!
Hmmm…. this is going to be hard but i would have to say its my Pumpkin Tiramisu. I would eat the whole pan if i could!
I love the classic pumpkin pie. Whip cream is a must!
It is so hard to choose. I suppose since Thanksgiving is so close it is hard to not choose a Thanksgiving dish. Homemade stuffing for sure is my favorite!
Lion House Rolls!! So yummy, the bread just melts in your mouth!
Love the pie – all pie, but especially pecan!
My mother in laws chop suey – she makes it every Christmas!
That’s a tough one! I love dressing, but I also love all of the Christmas candies my mom, sister, and I make each year-fudge, buckeyes, choc-covered marshmallows….all of it is sooo good!
Definitely the sugar cream pie at Christmas….I dream about it!!
Without a doubt, my fave is Gram’s sugar cookies with “hard icing” and colored sugar. (Hard icing being royal icing. When we were kids there was hard and soft.) This is one of those things that marks that Christmas is here for all of us. Nothing special and without the hard icing and the colored sugar they are just cookies. Also, Gram’s stuffing, meaning bread, celery, onions, Bell’s, lots of stock and butter.
And for the Fourth, it’s not the holiday for my Mum or I until the deviled eggs come out. The yolks MUST be mashed with a dab of dijon mustard and a speck of pickle juice.
And ANY gathering at my mom’s isn’t special without Gram’s Hot Milk Sponge cake (can you tell Gram was a great cook?).
Last year for Christmas my mom created and printed hard covered books filled with recipes – some in Gram and Pup’s handwriting! – photos and stories about our long multi-generational love of food. If you could have seen me and my two, large, manly middle aged brothers, all sitting in the warm family room, fire blazing, tree alight, SOBBING over these wonderful books!
Hands down, my favorite holiday dish is pumpkin pie! I could eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!
We have made Gotcha Day a holiday at our house. It’s the day we celebrate our sons adoptions from Guatemala and I make a bunch of (mostly) traditional food, like empanadas, fried plantains, arepas, and flan, and we give them a gift from Guatemala.
A traditional holiday food I look forward to is my mom’s candied pickles that we put on ham sandwiches at Christmas….YUM!
We love our family tradition of fondue. We do oil with meats, cheese with bread and veggies, and chocolate with fruit and goodies!
Hmmmm… do I have to come up with just one? I love Unstuffing, sour cream apple pie, and mashed potatoes with turkey gravey. I love your blog and I would love to win the Bosch!
Oh me, oh my!!!! My fingers are crossed on this one! Super sweet of you! My favorite is probably Thanksgiving sweet potatoes. I always make the kind that are topped with a brown sugar/pecan crumble. Yummy! Thanks! Jeanette at thealldays@msn(dot)com
My grandmother always makes Chicken and Noodles (homemade noodles!!) for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Love love love them!!
Grandma’s homemade donuts at Christmas. These are the favorite of everyone in my home. Merry Christmas….
