**This Contest is Now Closed (I know, I know, I said it would close Friday but I changed my mind based on the overwhelming response – I’ll announce a winner tomorrow morning!**
In honor of the fact that it is my Bosch-loving, baby sister’s birthday today (Happy Birthday, Emmers!)
and the fact that I am constantly waxing poetic about my love for my Bosch and manage to use it almost every day
and because I heart each and everyone of you and the support you give me
and because it is basically time to kickoff the marathon Holiday season
and because my husband always teases me that I would save my beloved Bosch first and foremost in a fire…
…well, in honor of all of that, I’m giving away a New Universal Plus Bosch Mixer to one of you!
Isn’t she a beaut? You won’t believe how your roll-making, bread-making, cookie-making world will spin out of control with this machine.
To enter, leave me a comment (only one per person, please!) telling me what your favorite holiday food is (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Kwanzaa, President’s Day…whatever holiday floats your boat).
As for me, I’d have to go with this pomegranate cheesecake or these gingerbread blondies or these holiday morning buns or this amazing 2-hour turkey. Hmm, I guess I’m having a hard time narrowing it down. Can’t wait to hear your favorites!
A winner will be announced Friday morning at 6:00 a.m. Wednesday morning at 6:00 a.m.!
May the force of the Bosch be with you.
{Pssst: This contest isn’t sponsored by Bosch or any company that sells them. It’s simply because I don’t know where I would be without my Bosch and I want one of you to have one, too!}

Grandma’s homemade banana ice cream during Christmas time!
Last Christmas my mom made Thomas Keller’s leek pudding recipe, and it was amazing. (http://www.marthastewart.com/recipe/leek-bread-pudding)
Chocolate cream pie. It’s good at Thanksgiving AND Christmas. Well, it’s pretty much good all year round. And delicious.
Stuffing – can’t beat it!
Thanksgiving is by far my favorite holiday. My favorite is is the sweet potatoes smothered in brown sugar, butter and pecans!
Halloween is homemade donuts with lots of cinnamon and sugar, Thanksgiving is pecan pie and Christmas morning quiche!
I’m going to say Wassail – it tastes so good on a cold winter day, and it makes the house smell like the holidays.
Christmas cookies of every variation!
does a beverage count? if so, i LOVE homemade wassail on halloween night. if not than i would say my favorite “holiday food” would have to be deviled eggs on easter. is that weird? ha! it’s the only time of year i eat them but boy do i love them.
p.s. i’ve never commented on here but i’d like you to know i read your blog every day and have made several of the recipes from it always with great success. thank you for writing!
Fried Turkey comes but once a year ~ Thanksgiving!!! : )
Oh Mel, this is a tough one! I would have to say, homemade stuffing with sausage, mushrooms , celery, and among other ingredients!!
I love the leftovers from Thanksgiving much more than the eating of the meal the first time around
Such a tough decision…I think that I really love Thanksgiving leftovers…its more acceptable when they are leftovers to eat them all mixed-together. Other than that it’s cherry pie with ice-cream, an appropriate dessert at any family gathering
I love stuffing, but only my mom can make it right (she’s in LA and I’m in MI). So, I’m going to say onion pie. Just trust me on this one. It’s divoon.
Christmas fruitcakes! I make them with my Grandmother every year. And they’re actually good, not the dense nastiness that most fruitcakes are. Ours are mostly nuts and fruit with just enough batter to hold them together…
My favorite holiday food is apple pie during Thanksgiving!
It’s so hard to choose a favorite but I guess it would be stuffing.
Pecan Pie! Thank goodness I only have it once a year because it’s loaded with calories but yummy.
sweet potatos! or maybe Christmas morning scones… it’s hard to choose.
My favorite has to be mashed potatos and turkey gravy! Yummmmy and we usually only get it twice a year. Thanksgiving and Christmas.
I love Christmas dinner having a delicious ham and twice baked potatoes. My husband makes the twice baked potatoes and they are absolutely the best!
one is too hard!
I love cooking for thanksgiving.
If I absolutely have to pick, I say stuffing, but I really love the whole shebang!
My favorite holiday food is my mom’s cinnamon rolls! She makes them every Thsnksgiving morning and gives them away at Christmastime. And she makes them with her Bosch of course!
I love anything with pumpkin in it…. pumpkin rolls, pumpkin pie, pumpkin squares (a family favorite)…. pumpkin is where it’s at!
That would have to be homemade stuffing…. In my book, it’s right up there with anything chocolate! I love your blog, I think I’m addicted to it, thanks for making time spent in the kitchen fun and delicious! (My family thanks you too!!)
One of my favorite Thanksgiving or Christmas foods is definitely my PaPa’s Glazed Ham! Not only is it delicious but now it is a great memory of him.
Is there a holiday food that I DON’T love? No there is not. I’m especially a fan of all things Thanksgiving: turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, candied yams, and pumpkin rolls!
My great-grandmother’s black walnut cookies. My mom makes them every Christmas. It’s just not Christmas without Nana’s cookies. And no one (we’ve tried) can make them like my mom can!!!
I love the Lion House recipe of North Pole Broccoli. I look forward to it every year.
The one thing I really love is sweet potatoes!
I love Pecan Pumpkin Crunch- there is nothing like this warm, yummy perfectly spiced dessert!
Hmm….I’d have to say Slush. We have it every Thanksgiving. A fruit mixture that we freeze with some sprite added later…..love it!
peppermint snowball cookies!!
Thanksgiving is my favorite eating holiday and my favorite food would have to be the mashed potatoes. Everything goes with potatoes.
My mom and I have always made this jello salad concoction called, Angel Salad. It is basically, jello, cream cheese (mixed together) with pineapple and whipped cream blended in. No one really likes it but us. It wouldn’t be a holiday dinner without it on the table!
Easter Dinner Ham with pineapple stuffing and carrot cake for dessert! Yummy!
Sushi for New Years!
I think my favorite would have to be mashed potatoes and gravy!
my aunt denise’s raspberry banana cream pie. absolutely amazing!
My Mom’s pumpkin pie! Mmmmmm!
My favorite holiday food is Stuffing. Must be homemade. I love the kind cooked inside the bird, but unfortunately, my family doesn’t do that anymore.
It would have to be my husbands grandmothers Frozen Cranberry Salad!!!!!!
Candy corn
I have a recipe for brining a turkey breast in apple juice and spices, I do the whole turkey for Thanksgiving. It’s so moist and flavorful!
big soft ginger cookies! YUM!
Biscuits and Chocolate Gravy… sounds strange, but SO good.
Nothing says thanksgiving (and christmas) like my mom’s home made croissants….mmmmmmm, which coincidentally she uses her bosch to make, now I just need one so I can make them too!
How to choose? Hmm..being a southern girl, I would have to say pecan pie is tops. But what about my cranberry orange relish, or cornbread dressing? Decisions, decisions.
It’s a tie between candied yams and pumpkin pie, stuffing is a close 2nd though.
I just made your pumpkin roll….so right now that’s it!! I would love to win!!!
I heart Bosch too! I love homemade rolls. Which my mom makes with her Bosch
I am a big fan of your recipes.
Hmmm, at Thankgiving time, my mom makes an incredible turkey dressing that I’ve never been able to duplicate…she doesn’t use a recipe.
My favorite holiday food would have to be the gravy! Ha! I know it isn’t “food”; but, I sure love smothering my turkey, taters, stuffing/dressing with gravy. We do this twice a year — Thanksgiving and Christmas.
My dad’s stuffing – hands down – he doesn’t cook almost anything for the entire rest of the year, but on Thanksgiving he makes the Turkey and the stuffing and it’s soooo good.
pumpkin roll with cream cheese frosting. Can’t wait for to make one!
My mom’s famous lemon bread – amazing. And I so need a bosch! ; )
Pecan pie!!
I have always wanted a Bosch mixer
Homemade gravy from turkey drippings. Yum Yum, I am hungry thinking about it. Thanksgiving here I come!
my favorite is Christmas and i loved to make Povitica. Its a family tradition
I love stuffing! and homemade rolls yum
I love the Lion House roll recipe.
Pumpkin Pie and dressing are the two dishes I look forward to the most.
If I had to pick one, I think the pumpkin pie with whipped cream! Thanks.
Thanksgiving sweet potatoes with apples and cinnamon. So wonderful!
Stuffing! My husband hates it and I love it, so the only time I get it is Thanksgiving.
I love your site. All the recipes I have tried are wonderful. I look everyday in hopes of something wonderful and it always is. Thanks. My favorite holiday food would have to be orange rolls for Thanksgiving.
Not sure if I can narrow it down. Thanksgiving stuffing with gravy. Oh, and Christmas prime rib and creamy mashed potatoes with gravy. And Lion House rolls. Oh! and lemon cheesecake. And all the traditional goodies we make–peanut brittle, caramels, tiny decorated shortbread cookies. I can’t decide!
The best Holiday food is Pavlova! I make one for every Holiday even made up ones.
Hmmm….hard to narrow it down to just ONE thing!! I think one of my favorite “foods” is cinnamon candy that we make every single year at Christmas-time. I look forward to it all year!
My mom makes pecan tarts with a cream cheese pastry crust. Delicious!
Oh, I’m drooling over the bosch! My all time favorite holiday food is my grandma’s meatballs. She is from Holland and once a year we go to their old gorgeous house in Salt Lake. She cooks up a MEAL of dutch food, and each year she hand rolls about a million meatballs. It’s not Christmas until we have stuffed ourselves silly with them!
We always make divinity at Christmas. Sugar, sugar and more sugar! Mmm!
Oh my goodness Melanie! A Bosch?! You really are the best.
I would have to say my favorite thing and most anticipated holiday food is my Grandpa Winterholler’s German sausage. For as long as I can remember my mom would make it on Christmas morning with scrambled eggs and toast. It was especially good because we only ate in on Christmas morning. It seriously would not feel like Christmas without that breakfast.
Thanks again!
I definitely always look forward to making my grandma’s stuffing for Thanksgiving!
Mashed potatoes and gravy and apple pie. Yummy!
It’s hard to say but probably honey baked ham, cheesy potatoes and homemade rolls on Christmas Eve.
I look forward to my grandmother’s dressing at Thanksgiving… no one makes it like her- yummm!
I love those candy can cookies at Christmas time!
most anything my mom makes…she is a good cook.
Wassil for sure– it just reminds me of the holidays!
My favorite holiday food is cornbread stuffing at Thanksgiving! But-to tell the truth-I like all the holiday foods!
If I had to pick it would be a toss up between roasted turkey at Thanksgiving or sugar cookies for Christmas! Delicious! Love your blog and would love to win the Bosch!
dressing with gravy – yum!
My Mother-In-Law’s pecan pie for sure! It is the best I have every tasted!
