Winner!
Christina (#815) who said: “Oh, Mel. My blender broke a few weeks ago and I’ve been dying without it while waiting to buy a new one. I would love to win!”
Timely win, Christina! I hope you love the blender!
Because I was so overwhelmed and happy with the response from this giveaway, I sent out a second BlendTec to a lucky winner. MommaD! Congratulations and happy blending, winners!
—————————————————————–
Hi.
My name is Mel. And I have a Blendtec problem.

The issue? I can’t stop using it! Whipped cream? Blendtec. The best Orange Julius known to my lips? Blendtec. The most divine, fat-free smoothie in the world (details below)? Blendtec. Bread crumbs in an instant? Blendtec, baby.
I was gifted a Blendtec for Christmas from my very generous parents. I wasn’t super familiar with the machine (yes, a machine because it is so.much.more than a blender) before a few weeks ago but after experimenting a bit, I have officially decided that the Blendtec ranks right up there with appliances-to-save-in-a-fire (and may even surpass my much-loved Bosch – shhh!). Seriously. This thing is amazing.
Are you familiar? Do you own one? Used one? Drooled over one?
Basically, it’s one blender that can do everything from make smoothies to milkshakes, bread dough to salsa, bread crumbs to salad dressings. It does the work of at least 1,000 other machines. Ok, not really. More like nine other machines. But are you catching my drift?? It’s unreal.
So I’m giving one away. I can’t help it. I need someone else to share in my joy and excitement.
Here’s the details, to enter the giveaway for ONE Blendtec Total Blender, leave a comment on this post telling me anything you want. If you really need direction, leave me the specs on your favorite smoothie combo. I need some ideas since smoothies (among other Blendtec miracles) are becoming a serious part of my life – at least four times a day, on average. I told you I had a problem. I wasn’t kidding.
Winner will be announced Monday Sunday!
Peace out, my friends. I’m off to make the treat I alluded to above: flesh of one mango, drizzle of honey blended with 16 ounces of unsweetened strawberries. The combination morphs into the most unbelievable, tropical fruity sorbet/ice cream you’ve ever had. And we’ve eaten at least six rounds of the magic in the last two weeks. Fruit overload tummy aches have never felt so good.
{Giveaway sponsored by me. Wish I could give one to each of you!}

I really want a chocolate-peanut butter milkshake…I bet I could make a great one with this blender!!
This sounds like an amazing machine. I would love to upgrade my sad 20 year old blender. Thank you for your wonderful recipes.
Our favorite smoothie–banana, blueberries (frozen usually), 1-2 T frozen juice concentrate (apple cherry or apple pomegranate are favorites), and a generous handful of baby spinach (1+ cup), then about 8oz of liquid (I usually use water or any juice from canned fruit but you could use milk too), and if you want throw in some yogurt.
I don’t have a blender, so we have to make smoothies in our food processor but it is so small that it isn’t worth the effort. As for a favorite smoothie, I like lots of different kinds. I could have my own Jamba Juice at home with a blender like that and try new flavors all the time.
As for leaving a favorite comment, I just want to tell you that we have enjoyed eating the recipes I make of yours. I also love taking them places and seeing people ohhhh and ahhhh over them. Of course, I tell them the website and origin of the recipe, but they think I am a better cook than i am because of the recipes I share. I absolutely love the white bean chili and the walnut blonde brownies. The reason I am here this morning at your website is to get the banana bread recipe to make. My family loved it. Thanks for all you do and the time you spend. We really appreciate it!
I like to put a little ice cream in my smoothies. Of course that makes it more of a fruit shake, but very yummy!
I used to live at Jamba Juice in my high school years! That would be so fun to be able to make them at home!
I am looking for a new blender for my athlete son. We are learning about protein milkshakes because he is buring more calories than he is taking in an is losing some weight. I would love to have a great blender like this to make him shakes everyday!
If a Blendtec is better than a food processor, then I need one. Can’t cut butter in by hand anymore!
One thing I want? Oh boy, that could be hard…my latest is trying to convince my husband that the kitchen cabinets NEED crown molding on the top…
Love smoothies! My smoothies are pretty simple – banana, other fruit chunks usually frozen, yogurt, milk. Sometimes i put in a spoonful of flaxseed too.
I’m sooo excited for this giveaway! Every time I go to Costco, I drool over these!!
As far as smoothies, I love adding a little sherbet or frozen yogurt or even a small scoop of ivecream to my frozen fruit and juice. I’ll also add a few spinach leaves to trick my 2 year old into drinking some veggies. My little guy isn’t a great eater, but he loves smoothies!
This giveaway is perfect! I do not have a blender and a food processor doesn’t quite handle liquid drinks very well
Thanks for the opportunity!

I love watching the demonstrations at Costco. I want to find a yummy non-dairy protein powder for smoothies. Thank you for all the fun giveaways in January!!
This sounds amazing. My husband and I love healthy smoothies and this sounds like the perfect addition…Thank you for a great giveaway.
Hi Mel: Let me begin by saying thanks for being here. I WANT to be as disciplined and as passionate as you about what I cook and what I share with others.
As for the smoothie: 1st: Bellini ( Peaches, fresh or frozen, mango, sparkling apple cider, touch of honey) 2nd: Sweet & Sour(Jar of maraschino cherries with juice, sweetened strawberries, pineapple juice and juice of 1 lime, serve with a cherry on top and a slice of lime on the side of the goblet/glass) .
I hide spinach in my smooties and bet this would do a much better job at hiding itthan my current blender…
I’m obsessed with Vanilla Protein Shakes, and only get one brand, as others don’t taste good to me. I have 3 shakes a day and My blender is on it’s last leg, so a new one would be great!
Ah, yogurt and blueberries and honey, with the tiniest bit of vanilla. Mmmmm!
My current blender doesn’t even get my strawberries blended so they don’t clog my straw. I seriously need one of these machines!
I love adding an orangevto my smoothies. The little bit of citrus flavor is my favorite
I would love this blender to make morning smoothies! My boyfriend has a smoothie for breakfast every morning and I take one to work occassionally (once or twice per week). I mix a little OJ, some yogurt, a few ice cubes, and frozen strawberries/mixed berries. So good! I also add some oats sometimes.
I’ve never heard of this but I am convinced I need one. My husband loves smoothies. In answer to anything I want? At the moment I was a springform pan. But also this blendtec.
I just discovered at a little wedge of meyer lemon makes EVERYTHING taste like Christmas. In a good way. I love 2 cups pomegranate juice (thanks Costco), 1 cup kefir or plain yogurt, 1 cup frozen mangoes, 1 cup frozen pineapple, and 1/2 cup frozen blueberries. And that little 1/4 of a Meyer lemon. Oh boy. Last night I had a crazy need for straight-up banana smoothie, so it went like this: 1 cup milk, 1 cup homemade vanilla yogurt, 6-8 frozen bananas, 1/4 cup frozen pineapple, some vanilla bean powder, some vanilla extract, a little salt, and a few tablespoons of coconut powder.
By the way, the Blendtec is currently on coupon at Costco.com so you can get the regular jar AND the Wildside jar for less that the regular usually runs.
And I am a little shocked that you didn’t already have a Blendtec!! What a fabulous gift. That non-Blendtec life you lived before will slowly fade until you might think it never existed. And my personal favorite Christmas gift was a year ago, when my Manly Man gave me a camping style blow torch, which I use in the kitchen at least once a day. Just so you know.
I would sure like one myself, but after reading about others who have left comments that they don’t even own any kind of a blender; I am encouraging you to pick one of them! They deserve it more than I do. Thanks for your generosity and all those talents you share with the rest of us.

BLENDTEC-LESS In Arizona
I could make a ton of baby food with that!
I love any kind of smoothie, but my son’s favorite is milk and a banana. That’s it! The exotic palate of a 2-year-old… crossing my fingers
You’re right. You have very generous parents. Having a Blendtec blender would be amazing. I make this Staple breakfast shake every morning… 1/2 cups of frozen starwberries, and peaches, 1 banana, 1 cup of yogurt, 6-8 oz water, 2 cups of spinach, and 1 Tb of Wheat Germ. It’s supposed to be 2 but I can’t stand the graininess. So I settle for one. A little is better then none right?!
We are an orange julius loving family!
Usually for a smoothie, I throw in some yogurt, milk, and frozen fruit. I just kinda wing it. I don’t really have a recipe. Just want to say I love your blog – every recipe I’ve tried has been great!
My favorite is a Protein Smoothie. I mix a Chobani Strawberry Greek yogurt, ice, strawberries (or another fruit), one scoop of sugar free chocolate protein powder and a splash of milk or water. Delicious and wonderful after a hard workout…which I need after experimenting with all these wonderful recipes. HA!
Thanks for the giveaway. My favorite smoothie combo is mixed berries, orange juice and Greek yogurt!!!
I make smoothies for my girls quite often. Their favorite is strawberry banana. I put a 6 o carton of strawberry yogurt (or vanilla if that all that’s left), a cup of frozen strawberries, and a banana. Occasionally if I’m feeling sneaky I’ll put a tablespoon of flaxseed or cup of spinach in there but usually when there are blueberries in there to help disguise the green specks.
I really want to start making smoothies in the morning and this would be great to use fot that:)
So many machines in one! ….. LOVE IT!!!! …. Should I not win this one, I will have to put it on my “would like to have, Feb b-day list”
This blender has been on my Christmas/birthday list for years! Life would be so much easier with a blendtec.
I love making smoothies using almond milk. Yum!
I love putting lots and lots of spinach in my morning smoothies, makes me feel more healthy.
Our fave is spinach, frozen berries and yogurt with flax seeds. Yumm!!
My favorite smoothie is frozen strawberries, banana, orange juice, and a little bit of ice. My secret ingredient….a splash of Vanilla or Sweet Italian Cream Creamer.
I love smoothies, but every time I make one I spend most of the time yelling at my blender until I finally give up and eat my smoothie complete with chunks of ice or whatever. I dream about the day when I can thank my blender for a perfectly textured smoothie.
I would love a new blender! I made my smoothies with milk and frozen fruit, but I’m wearing out my mini food processor by using it too much. I need to invest in an upgrade, and a Blendtec sounds like the perfect option!
this would be great! and i think a fresh pina colada smoothie would be awesome!! with a little strawberries added in.. Mmmm
I usually combine yogurt, milk, ice, honey, and whatever fresh or frozen fruit I have on hand. Not fancy, but it gets dairy and fruit into my family in an efficient and delicious manner.
I want it! I have killed 5 blenders from overuse. We havent bought another one in 3 years. Pick me!!!
This looks amazing.
I have drooled over these type of machines….especially since my blender can barely handle 4 ice cubes! My family loves smoothies, usually from jamba!
I miss strawberries. I get fresh mango, pineapple, rambutan…even ordinary fruits like bananas and apples, but I really love strawberries. That’s all I have to tell you. : )
This thing could revolutionize the entire kitchen experience! I want a smoothie! A pineapple, orange and mango smoothie. Sign me up!
I teach cooking to high school students, they would live this!
I have not heard of a Blendtec blender but if you say it is great then it must be. I trust your judgment. I have a frozen strawberry/banana blend in my freezer right now that would make some wonderful smoothies. Thanks. Have a good weekend.
Ooooooohhhh! I want a Blendtec sooooo bad! I make my kids spinach smoothies every morning with their breakfast and it’s put my poor little blender on it’s last leg! I have to stand and hold it so it doesn’t vibrate itself off the counter and turn it off quickly if it starts to burn itself out:) This would be amazing!!!
I’d love to upgrade our blender. We make smoothies every morning for breakfast. We love a simple strawberry banana smoothie but also have fun coming up with unique combinations!
Desperately need a new blender; mine is on its last round.
Smoothie (aka Orange Julius)
equal parts of each of the following:
orange juice
pineapple juice
almond milk
ice (as much as you want)
Blend all together in a blender.
A Blendtec would make a sweet addition to my kitchen! I love smoothies!
orange creamsicle smoothie on pinterest….
ahhhhh!
Oh man would I love to win this!!! My favorite smoothies have one frozen banana, frozen berries, water and spinach! Yummo!
I wonder if this magical machine could do baby food?? Just had a baby 2 months ago. But even if it doesn’t could use it to get more fruit in my diet to assist in the weight loss!
PS Ive been making one of your recipes at least 2-3 times a week lately! LOVE YOUR STUFF THANKS!!!
I stumbled on your blog by accident and absolutely LOVE your recipes! It’s so great to have new ideas that are easy and yummy! You rock, girl! Thanks!
Well after reading this post a Blendtec is at the top of my list!
I want this so very much!! I think it would change my life…:)
i am seriously in lust of this said machine. I’ve wanted one for 2 years now but for some reason I never have the money in the budget so count me in this giveaway as I would love to make smoothies, with this thing and salsa, soups and oh my the ideas are endless.
I could go for a chocolatey milkshake! Fun giveaway!
Oh man… I never win anything… but what a dream come true this would be!!! I’ve been looking at (read: droooling over) the Blendtec on amazon for months now and the price shifts here and there, but overall it’s around 400 bucks and living on my hub’s modest salary simply leaves no wiggle room at all for something like that. We loooooooooooooooove smoothies and the kids consider them a huge treat… the best is frozen bananas, plain yogurt, greens, and berries, but our old blender doesn’t handle the frozen aspect so well, so fresh bananas work ok. But it’s the frozen ones that really make a thick, ice-creamy texture.
This sounds like a fantastic and super useful item that I REALLY need in my kitchen!! lol We’re doing the whole weight loss / eat healthy / New Year’s decisions and this lovely piece would fit right into our world. Thanks for the opportunity to win one!
Ok, I know how this is going to sound…but the very top thing on my want list right now is a Blendtec. I don’t have a blender OR a food processor, and my son refuses to eat anything but meat unless it’s pulverized (and I mean completely liquid) into juice or a smoothie. I’m so wanting one of these to be able to get some fruit and veggies into him!
I would love a Blendtec! Sounds like a great machine!
I would love a blender that doesn’t burn up making smoothies! My favorite smoothie is just, spinach, bannana, frozen mixed fruit and a little water.
I would love to win this to make yummy smoothies and milkshakes!
Thank you for sharing your wonderful recipies! The Blendtec has forever been on my wish list….
Oh SO fun !
The best way to get your spinach !
1C almond milk (vanilla)
1 scoop of protein powder
1 C fresh pineapple
1C fresh Blueberries
2 big hand fulls of Spinach
Some ice on top !
That’s it !
Wow this would be amazing to win – we LOVE smoothies around my house! Love using frozen fruit instead of ice which waters it down. YUM. Such a healthy and delish treat for sure. And ONE thing I want? Still that darn instant read thermometer….and hardwood floors if I am really dreaming!!! Thanks Mel!
We don’t own a blender because I got sick of the cheap ones that never work and I haven’t been able to take the jump for a Blendtec (mostly because I’m pretty sure my husband would have a heart attack if I spent several hundred dollars on a blender)! With your rave review, though, I just might have to start saving for one!
I having been drooling over a Blendtec for a long time! All other blenders that I have had just do a mediocre job! Thanks for the chance!
Margaritas!!! It’s the middle of winter – but somehow I think I can get away with one!!!
I’ve heard that adding flax seeds to smoothies is supposed to be a healthy thing to try. Can’t wait to see how they’d taste!
Oh Wow this sounds like the MACHINE OF ALL MACHINES!!
I have never even heard of the Blendtec blender till now!
I need a recipe for a creamy orange vanilla smoothie or shake just anything that tastes like a creamsicle/dreamsicle flavor:)
Great giveaway!!
Sadly, I want SO many things (too many to begin to list). I have a bad case of the “I wants”.
)
As for smoothies, I’m new to the idea of making them & very excited about the possibilities. The only one I’ve made is the Frog Nog from The Sisters Cafe & I really enjoyed it.
How about a banana, handful of spinach, chopped broccoli, 1/2 celery, kale, & green pepper. Not too yummy but really good for you!
Oh, I’ve been wishing for you of these for years! We have smoothies just about every day. My current fav is frozen blueberries, frozen strawberries, banana, grape juice, flax seed. It’s good with spinach in it too.
An Orange strawberry yogurt type mix. Or lemon raspberry. Yum!
I would love a blendec actually. I need something that can do it all. I don’t have anything to mix dough. I love love love smoothies too!!
My favorite smoothies are very simple. I love banana, strawberries (frozen is better) and some vanilla Greek yogurt and a scoop of vanilla why protein. Perfect for an after workout shake and prevents the munchies from attacking!
4 smoothies a day! Wow! The kids love to make a simple yogurt and berry smoothie with a touch of maple syrup.
I love vanilla in my smoothies…or lemonade if it’s summer!
I don’t have one. But I would love to have one, it looks awesome!!!
You had me at whip cream. I can’t believe you can do that in a blender. Wow.
I don’t have a blender. Mine was lost when our home was foreclosed. So this would be awesome! I used to love using protein powder, a splash of OJ, banana and a few frozen strawberries, ice chips (since my old blender was cheap, it did not crush ice well..have yet to use one that crushes ice!) and a packet of sweet n low. I want to try one that has coconut milk in it. I think it would be great with some pineapple! I have also made them using the frozen peaches I picked, and yogurt!
Let’s see….smoothies, salsas, homemade butter, sauces, soups, ice cream preps, etc, etc…A Blendex would be wonderful to have!!! Hope I get lucky!!
This would be so great to win. I have never had great success with the blenders I have bought. They always leave chunks of frozen fruit in the bottom of my smoothies.
When I make smoothies, they usually have frozen strawberries and blueberries, maybe mango and banana, plain yogurt and orange juice.
I would use it to make chocolate milk shakes. I love ice cream.
blueberries and frozen VERY overripe bananas, and a little orange juice. Yum!
For Diane and her Creamsicle smoothie. Frozen orange juice from concentrate and greek vanilla yogurt. Add some vanilla whey protein and a tablespoon of vanilla extract and you’re done.
I must admit I have never heard of a Blendtec, but I have been through my fair share of blenders and have pretty much stopped using them. This product sounds awesome. Will have to put it on that wishlist!
My fav is the old faithful Banana-Strawberry!
I want my 4 young daughters to be able to stay home and take care of their families one day like I have been able to. I find such joy and fulfillment in the things I do everyday – like cooking, decorating, packing lunches, gardening, etc. I’m very grateful for my job!
This sounds amazing! I would love to try many new exciting combos!
We have a blender for looks as it doesn’t work well. A blender should be able to handle ice..all I’m sayin’. If my blender worked, I would mix orange juice, strawberries, ice, and plain yogurt together.
Love Mr. Food’s “Wake-Em-Up Smoothie” but then there are just so many others it’s hard to say which is really my favorite…anything with berries is good…my mom gave me the blender that we use every morning, don’t even know how old it is…have had my eye on Blendtec for a while now and would really appreciate winning this one! Thanks!
my favorite smoothie: 1/2 cup plain greek yogurt, 1 cup of baby spinach, handful of blueberries and 4-5 frozen mango pieces to add some sweetness. Keeps me feeling good after a workout and full before a workout..
Saw a recipe for a banan oatmeal, chocolate peanut butter shake that I’d like to try, but I have a horrible blender!
I would love a Blendtec! I haven’t had a smoothie or milkshake in two years since my last blender bit the dust.
I really miss strawberry/banana/greek yogurt smoothies….so good!
I really want a blendtec so I can make some asian ginger dressing. I would also like to try some smoothie recipes..
