Winner!
Christina (#815) who said: “Oh, Mel. My blender broke a few weeks ago and I’ve been dying without it while waiting to buy a new one. I would love to win!”
Timely win, Christina! I hope you love the blender!
Because I was so overwhelmed and happy with the response from this giveaway, I sent out a second BlendTec to a lucky winner. MommaD! Congratulations and happy blending, winners!
—————————————————————–
Hi.
My name is Mel. And I have a Blendtec problem.

The issue? I can’t stop using it! Whipped cream? Blendtec. The best Orange Julius known to my lips? Blendtec. The most divine, fat-free smoothie in the world (details below)? Blendtec. Bread crumbs in an instant? Blendtec, baby.
I was gifted a Blendtec for Christmas from my very generous parents. I wasn’t super familiar with the machine (yes, a machine because it is so.much.more than a blender) before a few weeks ago but after experimenting a bit, I have officially decided that the Blendtec ranks right up there with appliances-to-save-in-a-fire (and may even surpass my much-loved Bosch – shhh!). Seriously. This thing is amazing.
Are you familiar? Do you own one? Used one? Drooled over one?
Basically, it’s one blender that can do everything from make smoothies to milkshakes, bread dough to salsa, bread crumbs to salad dressings. It does the work of at least 1,000 other machines. Ok, not really. More like nine other machines. But are you catching my drift?? It’s unreal.
So I’m giving one away. I can’t help it. I need someone else to share in my joy and excitement.
Here’s the details, to enter the giveaway for ONE Blendtec Total Blender, leave a comment on this post telling me anything you want. If you really need direction, leave me the specs on your favorite smoothie combo. I need some ideas since smoothies (among other Blendtec miracles) are becoming a serious part of my life – at least four times a day, on average. I told you I had a problem. I wasn’t kidding.
Winner will be announced Monday Sunday!
Peace out, my friends. I’m off to make the treat I alluded to above: flesh of one mango, drizzle of honey blended with 16 ounces of unsweetened strawberries. The combination morphs into the most unbelievable, tropical fruity sorbet/ice cream you’ve ever had. And we’ve eaten at least six rounds of the magic in the last two weeks. Fruit overload tummy aches have never felt so good.
{Giveaway sponsored by me. Wish I could give one to each of you!}

My favorite smoothie is: 1 cup juice (any kind), 1 Tbls flax or chia seeds, two handfuls of fresh spinach, as much frozen fruit as I can fit in before my dumb blender stops working. (I love the frozen mango, pineapple, strawberry mix from Costco) I just put a few pieces of fruit in at a time. YUM!! I NEED THIS BLENDER
My blender is a cheap one from college! I want that….and a salad spinner.
Love your website!!! I would love a blendtec, then when I make lumpy gravy, I could blend it smooth:)
I’m throwing a baby shower tomorrow.
This looks awesome! our blender broke a while ago and I’ve been wanting to try a smoothie that has spinach in it. This would be perfect.
Wowziers – this machine sounds incredible. My first thing to make wouldn’t NOT be a healthy smoothie. I would go for a raspberry orea shake. My daughter got me onto these shakes and they are mmm-mmm good. I only get them in the summer when I go to the drive-in, 3o miles away from my home. I would love to win the BLENDTEC!
This is an amazing giveaway! My 3 teenage daughters love smoothies. Of course they spend tons of money buying them from the coffee cart at school or the local coffee shop. I would love to re-create their favorites at home like caramel apple, or tropical!
Oohhhh that looks really, really nice! This would end my days of making smoothies in the food processor, which I rarely do since it’s kind of a pain. Thanks, Mel!
Homemade dressings and sauces all the way!!!!
How ironic that this post was today. I was drinking my spinach smoothie with non appealing giant chunks of spinach thinking, I really need a new blade for my Magic Bullet! Even better would be winning a new blender!
This machine sounds really cool. Just what I need to inspire my love of smoothies. yum!
I really want a pair of Ugg boots, but I need a blender too
Have you see the Will It Blend web site? Awesome!!
http://willitblend.com/
You’re right! Incredible machine!!
I could use one!!
We haven’t had a blender since my cheapo college acquisition died… 15+ years ago! I would love to be able to make a creamy, yummy chocolate shake with butterscotch schnapps…..
I want to sneak in spinach and carrots in my kids smoothies without them knowing it!!! I’ve been told the Blendtec is the tool!
This would be a really great blender to have.
Definitely a peanut butter and chocolate smoothie concoction!
I need a blender so so badly! Favorite smoothie, let’s see. Pretty much anything involving strawberries . . .
Wow…that is a fancy machine…and what a lucky lady to receive one for Chrismas! I made an avocado/lemon/garlic sauce for whole grain pasta last night that would have been a breeze with the Blendtec.
I don’t make smoothies since my blender has been broken forever, but would happily spend untold hours searching for recipes if I won this!
I would love to start making more smoothies and this sounds perfect to make them!
One thing I want… Probably hardwood floors. My kids are old enough now and my carpets are trashed. I hope I win!!
I could make delicous smoothies with this amazing machine. Even a peanut butter banana smoothie. hope I win!!!
I really want this!!! I need a new blender. This is a must try Mel…seriously.
5 1/2 c. Ice
1/2 c. + 2T cream of coconut
4-5 T. Frozen Limeade concentrate
water to desired texture!!(not much)
Try it you won’t be sorry.
Oh, a Blendtec would be so welcome to my arthritic hands when I’m cooking! (which I LOVE to do)
I am lovin’ anything with mango!!!
I would LOVE one of these….I don’t have a blender or food processor! I’ve made my own baby food in the past and have to borrow my mom’s food processor to make it, so this would be ideal for that:)
Smoothies are not my specialty, i try, but difficult with a dumb ol’ broken processor
i do keep trying tho! a tropical smoothie this time of year would be wonderful! This blender might do the trick to fixing my broken processor problem!
Green smoothie!!! Throw in some collard greens and some kale along with a couple handfuls of spinach with water and blend it all together then add one banana with a couple handfuls frozen fruit (my favorite right now is a mix of mangos pineapples and strawberries) with blueberries. Blend it all and enjoy drinking something extremely healthy and even more tasty!
In a recent contest, you asked us to comment about something on our wish list. I really couldn’t think of anything…until I saw this blender. I make my smoothies with one of those mixer bullet-type gadgets and could really use this.
OH.MY.GOSH. You do realize that this was the very item I said was on my wishlist in the last giveaway… right?? RIGHT??? You’re killing me over here! I already pretty much worship you but if I were to “randomly” win this machine, you would probably be the sole beneficiary of my estate when I die (I won’t mention my lack of equities here). I would offer my first born son but you probably already have of enough boys in your house. Hmmmm… what else could I bribe you with?? I’ll come up with something.
PLEAASSEE??? Pretty PLEEEAAASSSEE???
Ok, here’s the first thing…..LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your website – every recipe I make it’s a winner…you have made me lok good! (just had to throw that in, not to win any brownie points, but everyone needs to hear what a good job they are doing & how much they are appreciated for all their work…but if brownie points are rewarded, then…BONUS!) I think I am hoping I win this blender because after 16 years of marriage, and 6 kids, this year my kitchen “blew up”… My fridge broke, most of my pots & pans, either broke or rusted out, my crock pot almost caught on fire (self-combusted), microwave had to get tossed, and my coffee pot was shot. although, my plan all year was to ask someone for a nice blender to do the things you mentioned (and get my family eating healthier), as thes year went on, I had to prioritize the other things I needed as well. Well, Christmas came & went. I got most of the stuff that I needed, but the blender want a priority to my gracious givers…so, to win this, would be an amazing gift…the one I really wanted, but didn’t feel like I could ask for
I love my smoothies! Strawberry, blueberry, bananas, Greek yogurt , honey, touch of cinnamon and don’t forget the wheat germ! But after reading all the other posts I never thought about adding baby spinach! What a great idea! Ohhh and a blendtec to boot??? It is Christmas all over again baby!
I have to tell you I have never heard of this machine! Thanks for the introduction:)
I would love a Blendtec! It’s kind of my dream blender! My sweet 11-month-old son and I love to share smoothies… dare I say we’d love them even more made in a blendtec? =)
Winning a Blendtec: Fabulous. Creating the following smoothie: Easy and Delicious!
1 cup Mango juice (or orange / peach blend works too)
1 cup Strawberries, frozen
1/2 cup Peaches, frozen
1 cup Orange Sherbet
1/2 cup Ice
Blend well (in the Blendtec it would be a snap!) and enjoy a delectable, refreshing drink .
My kitchen aid blender just broke. Perfect timing for this giveaway. I like to add a little spinach in my smoothies. The kids can’t taste it.
I could really go for a PB&J smoothie right now
Smoothies and bread dough?! I definitely need a Blendtec!
I’m a smoothie fan, too, but typically only make one as a recovery drink after a long run. I use a frozen banana, frozen strawberries, frozen peach slices, some Greek yogurt, a splash or two of milk, flaxseed oil, and usually a half a scoop of vanilla or banana cream protein powder. Yum!
Oh, I was so wanting this for Christmas! I am craving anything it makes, green smoothies, ice cream, sorbet, soup, you name it! My fingers are crossed!!
My current blender is out of commission, but I used to make smoothies all the time over the summer! I’m fairly plain – yogurt, banana, strawberries. Yum!
I want one!
My favorite smoothie -
1 c. frozen strawberries
1 banana
1/3 c. plain nonfat yogurt
1/4 c. milk
Splash of orange juice
Stevia to taste
I really want tile on my kitchen back splash. As far as smoothies, we do vanilla yogurt, mixed berries from Costco, spinach, milk or juice, banana, and flax seed.
Hands down, strawberry banana
It never fails me.
That machine looks amazing! My old, old blender is starting to stall and smoke on the frozen fruit for my smoothies. A new one would be great!!!
Milk, vanilla yogourt, frozen fruit of your choice, fresh fruit.
oooooooo I’ve been wanting Blendtec for a long time!! I love making smoothies and milkshakes (among other things) and would love to have a machine that actually did a good job. Thank you for your amazing blog. It’s my very favorite food blog (and I visit a lot).
I definitely want to start incorporating spirulina in our diets and smoothies would be a great way.
My blender is getting really lame, so I would love love love this. I would also like new clothes (I am 29 weeks pregnant and nothing is fitting anymore) and a bowl of chocolate chip cookie dough
haha. I usually throw frozen strawberries, peaches, and pinapple in my smoothies, with some vanilla, ice cubes, greek yougert, and water. If I am brave and attempting to be healthy, then I also add a handful of spinach.
I have recently been comparing the Vita-Mix and the Blendtek to figure out if I should buy one and if so which. Maybe I’ll win and that decision will be made.
I don’t have a blender, so I’d love a blendtec for just about anything!
Great giveaway! I love banana smoothies!
We love green smoothies at our house–a sure fire way to get the veggies into the kids:) we we aren’t a measuring kind of family but love to add strawberries, banana, spinach, carrots, orange juice concentrate and some form of liquid–usually a little apple juice and almond milk. We have even thrown in some peanut butter:) We would love one of these blenders!!
I would love a new blender! Ours is about smoothied out.
I’d love to make bread dough in this since I never use my bread maker! And fresh juices to even things out!
When I opened my email this morning I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw that you were giving away a BlendTec. My husband and I have watched the “will it blend” you tube videos of this blender! It seems like a better kitchen appliance may not exist:) The smoothie I find myself going back to again and again is: 2 cups apple juice, frozen mixed berries, a banana and a handful or two of spinach! Happy Blending!
I would LOVE a blendtec. I have watched the demos at Costco and really wanted to give in and buy one. It would make nice healthy smoothies for the me and the kids in the mornings.
I would love to make a chocolate peanut butter milkshake with this blender.
I would love to make a smoothie, I’ve never made one before. I don’t have a blender right now and this one sounds very exciting. Thank you for the opportunity to win.
I like to make smoothies for my girls for an after school snack. My favorite is probably a simple strawberry, banana with some greek yogurt, honey and oj. I would love a blender like this!
I have heard AMAZING things about this device. I would really LOVE one since my mom’s old stand mixer can’t take much more abuse from me. My like is totally devoid of smoothies and milkshakes because of my lack of a good blender
I want to be able to see if the Blendtec will really grind up an iphone–doesn’t someone do that in the “Will It Blend” series on youtube?
Actually I would use it for a more practical purpose–probably for making orange julius (our staple snack in the summer) smoothies, syrup, soup, etc.
OK this is pretty high up on the wish list you were talking about in the last giveaway. When I see them at costco I drool and walk away quickly because the money is just not there for the wish list (bummer). Anyway, would love it!! And my smoothie? any fruit in the fridge that my kids are sick of eating, blended together with some unsweetened mostly frozen strawberries. mmmm, smoothie.
What a wonderful giveaway!!! I LOVE your recipes!!
That’s an awesome blender. The one we have currently gets loose on the base and after the 2nd time of cleaning all the smoothie off the counter when the base came off…I haven’t used it since. We love trying new fruits in smoothies, one of my favorites is strawberry, mango, a little apple juice, then either plain yogurt or ice cream (depending how healthy you want to be at the moment
.
Exactly what we need…I could really put a machine like this to work!
I’ve heard Blendtecs are fantastic. We’re big smoothie drinkers over here — the kids think they’re getting a treat and don’t realize that I’ve packed a lot of healthy stuff in there!
spinach, blueberries, flax seed, greek yogurt and a bit of orange juice. YUMMITY.
I use a powder called Shakeology to make my smoothie. I add PB and a banana in it!
As far as smoothies go, I just experiment with what I have on hand, my favorite is strawberry banana. If you haven’t tried, you can add flax.
I don’t really have a favorite smoothie recipe. We just use yogurt & frozen fruit. Whatever happens to be in the freezer/fridge… But I’d LOVE to have this!
Oh I want a blendtec SO bad! With my smoothies I always throw in some spinach. Great way to get veggies in the morning and can’t even taste it. I hope I win…fingers crossed! Thanks!
I am a veteran smoothie artist from my high school days. My favorite smoothie is berry good
raspberry juice, nonfat vanilla frozen yogurt, frozen rasp, blue and blackberries. Top with some ice or omit for more flava!! I hope I win!!!!
My two year old son refuses to eat all vegetables. Although, he loves smoothies, so I’ve been wanting to sneak some veggies into yummy fruit smoothies for him, but the problem is my blender is broken.
So, this is perfect timing for me to win a new blender. *fingers crossed… Thank you!
We LOVE smoothies at our house. Usually have some base combination of bananas, strawberries and yogurt…and then go from there! The Blendtec sounds amazing….no more lumpy smoothies!!!!!
I love blending things, this would be perfect!
wow! I’ve never heard of this, but my old blender is dying, so this would be awesome. I don’t make too many smoothies, but when I used to, I would always add some silken tofu to up the protein content! yum!
thanks for the review! i’ve seen these at costco and wondered about their awesomeness! it’s definitely going on my wishlist:)
I would love a Blendtec! I’ve been dreaming about one of those for awhile now! My favorite smoothie of the moment is the green monster…trying to get a bit healthier.
Visions and dreams of all possibilities! Enjoy!
I have never heard of the Blendtec, but it sounds amazing. Smoothies are OK, but a nice thick chocolate milkshake is sounding good about now.
Ooooo…I need a Blentec because not only have I drooled over one for the past few years, I’ve actually gathered my courage and my money and purchased one at least twice only to take it back the next day because I try to convince myself that I need the money more than the machine. I am certain I would use it all the time and save it in the event of fire
*crossing my fingers*
I want a blendtec and have for a while now! We love fruit smoothies and milkshakes but I think I could come up with a few other uses too!
I love fruit smoothies, but a new smoothie I just found was a peanut butter banana smoothie. 1 C milk, 1 c vanilla yogurt, 1 tbs pb, 1 banana, 2 tbs flax seed, and 1 tsp vanilla. You can add honey if you want it a little sweeter. We haven’t needed too though. I would love a blend tec!!!
I had never heard of this Blendtec contraption you speak of before today. But within 5 minutes and reading 2 different blogs it’s been mentioned twice. I’m intrigued!
I make at least one smoothie everyday, which usually includes mango, almond milk, a tad of almond butter, flaxseed, spinach and sometimes protein powder. I would looooove a blendtec so that I could use it for breaddough, chopping veggies for salad, and of course for more smoothies. Thanks for doing this giveaway–very generous!
The last thing I blended was a detox green smoothie: 1 1/4 c pineapple juice, lemon juice from 1/2 a lemon, 1/4 tsp ginger and a big handful of spinach. My blender stinks – I *really* would love this new blender!!!
Oh Mama… This is one hunk of a machine !! Can a machine be a hunk ??? Well – my new thing is soups.. A curried zucchini, smooth ,rich in flavor , and best of all Low Cal !!!!
Thank you for the recipes and humour. Favoriate smoothie combo–Orange Julius flavor combination–awesome!
I am happy to say that even though tomorrow is Friday the 13th, it’s still FRIDAY and that makes me smile!
I would so love to have a Blendtec. I have a really old blender that is so bad you might as well not have one at all.
I have always wanted one of these… it will be smoothie time!!!
I’ve heard this is the greatest blender ever! I would keep it on my counter top next to my stand mixer and use it every day for whatever I darn well please… smoothies, milkshakes, etc..
Thank you!
I just want to give a shout out to Pinterest for being instrumental in my discovery of your site. I’m thoroughly enjoying it!
Who knew a blender could be so resourceful!
I love strawberry yogurt smoothies! Mmm!
I would love a blendtec, so that I could try out a bunch of smoothie recipes…. there is a green smoothie I’ve been watching..then once I am healthy I will go back to milkshakes
pizza dough and smoothies? Wow, sounds like something that would change my life in the kitchen!
Mmmm… My favorite is orange juice, plain yogurt, raspberries, and bananas.
I would love one of these to make green smoothies!
