In my fantasy kitchen/cooking world, there are several stores that I could spend the rest of my life in. No, really. Like, hide out under one of the large urns so as not to be discovered and make myself at home. For forever.
Since I live smack dab in the middle of Wisconsin, I don’t get the lavish opportunity to visit any of my favored kitchen/home stores very often. But when I do leave my neck of the woods and traverse the state to Chicago, Minneapolis or even far out west to Portland (where my in-laws live), I always make a point to stop somewhere and gaze and gawk at all the things I am mentally adding to my wish list.
Among the stores that I love, Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn and Crate & Barrel rank right up there. One of my favorite breakfast foods is crispy waffles with bacon. For the past 5 years, my husband and I have been using a $10 waffle iron picked up at the grocery store that only seems to produce seriously soggy waffles! I’m with you. I’d love a glass drink dispenser! I sadly broke my punch bowl at Thanksgiving a couple years ago and haven’t replaced it. I think I’d replace it with a drink dispenser, though.

Crate and Barrel is my favorite. It’s dangerous when I get to one, fortunately for my pocketbook, there isn’t one nearby, but when I make a yearly trek there? Look out. My #1 wish list item right now happens to be a Food Processor. I don’t know why I didn’t think of that BEFORE Christmas, but now it’s all i can think about!

We really need a set of silverware! ;0 My hubby just got back from visiting his mother from India and she sent me a set of spoons! She visited us in September so she knew we are in need of silverware, how embarrassing!
This is not kitchen related, but I badly want a new super flushing toilet for the kids’ bathroom.
I would love a dutch oven, something I can use on both stove top and then place in the oven. It would be so much easier than to have to change pans out midway in cooking. I’ve had a dutch oven on my birthday and Christmas gift list for the past couple years but to no avail.
I’m saving up for a new kitchen table. We’re using one that used to belong to my grandparents, and while I appreciate the sentimental value, it is super wobbly and not the prettiest/most practical thing.

My number one item I want right now is the Very Hungry Caterpillar nursery set from Pottery Barn! I would love it if I won the money, it would help make my soon-to-be born little boy’s nursery look so adorable!
I’ve been drooling over the Pottery Barn and Crate and Barrel catalogs over here (especially since we just moved and I have lots of fun decorating to do!) But #1 on my wish list right now is a herb garden that I can put in my windowsill.
My dishwasher died almost a year ago and I miss it terribly : ( If I could have anything right now, a dishwasher would be on the top of my list. In the mean time you’ll find me at the sink doing my endless amount of dishes…..

New cookware!!!! I have been using the same saucepan and pot, my only sauce pan and pot, for 15.5 years now. Which is actually pretty amazing considering I have 6 kids! It is realllllly time for a set:)

My husband is repainting our open concept living/dining/kitchen area with a Venetian plaster finish. It’s very detailed and time consuming, but we like the Tuscan feel our home has. I would like new curtains or more Tuscan decor to finish the look, but that will be a slow adding process. With 3kids, house wants and needs takes backseat. We have also dabbled in wine making so some new wine glasses and accessories would go great with our home baked bread(thanks for the delicious French bread recipe) as well as dipping oils. Our own Italy at home!
My no. 1 wish is something I can’t share but my no. 2 wish would be to get a new light for my kitchen/dining room.
There are many kitchen things I would love to have. Right now I would love some measuring spoons that are long and skinny to fit into my spices! I have room for those! Thanks Mel, I love love love your site!
All things for my new baby boy that’s due in March! We got rid of all the baby furniture, etc. after our now 14 year old son was a toddler. What an awesome giveaway!
I’d love colorful cooking tools/utensils. I have basic black ones but I believe a little pizazz is my spatulas will do wonders for my cooking!

When my youngest son left I thought I could retire my Kitchen Aide. I now own a childcare and the poor mixer is back in service. I think it’s about 25 yrs old now. A nice shiny new one would be great.

My greatest wish right now is that the reconstruction of our house after demolition in May would be complete, at least so I could have a kitchen sink in which to wash dishes. As far as things for the kitchen, my number one would be a pizza stone.

Top of my list is Crate and Barrel dishtowels. I have 3 that I have had for years. They are getting thin and fraying but I just can’t give them up! My husband keeps complaining about them. I love them and need more!! I have a Pottery Barn and William Sonoma 1 mile away but no C & B.
