Panini Griddler and Sandwich Press Giveaway!

This contest is now closed! Thanks for entering. The winners are:

#747: Katie P.
#83: Linda P.
#608: Kelly P.
{Does anyone else think it’s odd and slightly freaky that out of over 1,000 entries all the random winners have last names that start with P? Crazy!}

I thought it would be appropriate to celebrate my huge website makeover, the fact that sometimes I can’t believe I’ve really been at this blogging thing for over 5 years now, your patience while I work through some of the bugs of the redesign and the fact that my FB page surpassed 15,000 likes last week by giving away something very near and dear to my heart.

Do you love paninis? Grilled cheese? French toast (because, yes, I make french toast in this all the time)? Then, your life will not be complete until you have this panini press/griddler thingy that has been a part of my life for a year now and that I use all.the.time. Isn’t she pretty? (Not as pretty as my website, of course…)
panini press

Because we eat panini sandwiches at least twice a week (have you seen this Make-a-Panini spreadsheet? It’s nerdy and awesome) and because they make a perfect quick, don’t-heat-up-the-kitchen dinner in the warm months ahead (far ahead if you are me and still have snow on the ground) and because I want you to be able to do the same (jeez, get to the details already!), I’m giving away THREE panini presses (Cuisinart Griddler Panini and Sandwich Press, if you want to get technical). That means you have three chances to win. Got it?

To enter, leave a comment on this post telling me anything you want (well, you know, within reason). Good luck! Winners will be announced, like, Wednesday or Thursday so get going and enter!

On the last trip I took with my mom before she died, we spent a day exploring the non-touristy side of Venice and found a lunch spot full of the locals. It was a yummy vegetable panini but I’m not sure if it was the panini, the locale or the company that makes it the best panini ever.

    French toast!?! Sign me up!

  394. Thanks for the precious time you spend sharing your tried and true recipes! You’ve definitely helped me out of many culinary ruts where I felt I was making the same meals over and over and over again!

  395. Love all the great recipes on your blog! Thanks for taking the time to share them! We’d love a panini maker! My husband packs a lunch for school and it would be a great addition and add some fun variety to his pb&j life!

  396. Your new design is pretty! I love paninis, but never make them myself. If I win, I could make my own paninis..and french toast you say? πŸ™‚

  397. I’m a regular on your blog now and have loved every recipe I’ve attempted. Thanks for sharing & making crazy dinner time easier! congrats on five years! I want to purchase the pans you use to make bread. they seem fabulous!

  398. I love the new look and design of your blog. Keep up the great work! Thank you!

  399. I want my husband and I to start eating healthier. A panini press would make that process fun! πŸ™‚

  400. I love every recipe on your blog. Seriously. Every single one. Thanks!

  401. paninis have been in my pregnant food-loving dreams lately. hope to win!

  402. Thanks for sharing all of your wonderful recipes! I love the new design of your website!

  403. I want a good night’s sleep!

    P.S. Love the new site

  404. I’d like to go on a trip (and not have to pay for it).

  405. This is great, I would love a panini press! Thanks for all your hard work on your website – you have made my life easier with all your delicious and totally doable recipes!

  406. I have really enjoyed your blog and have enjoyed getting to know you and your family!!!

    Have a happy happy day!

  407. You’re my go-to and I tell everyone about your site! πŸ™‚

  408. Thanks so much for all of your great recipes. You are my go-to for tasty food! πŸ™‚ Also, I’ve shared the slow cooker Italian beef recipe about 20 times now. It’s seriously the yummiest thing out there (is yummiest a word?).

  409. A Blendtech Blender

  410. Love the new design! πŸ™‚

  411. Your little girl is so darling! Congrats on the blog redesign!

  412. Congrats on 5 years! I would love someone with an eye for design to come help me decorate my kitchen and family room. They were recently remodeled, and I have no clue how to decorate them. I would also love more Indian-inspired recipes (hint, hint). We love the ones you’ve already posted.

We also LOVE paninis, but I don’t have a panini press. I live in AZ, and in the summer when it’s seriously 115 degrees, all the money in the world could not bring me to turn on my oven. It’s paninis, salads, and BBQ on the grill for 5 months straight.

  413. We love your recipes! Thanks for all the work you put into your website!

  414. I love your site. It is my go-to cookbook!

  415. I just mastered your Rustic Crusty Bread, now I need a Panini Press so I can make awesome Panini’s with that rustic crusty bread lol. P.S. I LOVE the new design.

  416. Your site is so wonderful! I love it. I am pleased to see you have a buttermilk biscuit recipe today. Just yesterday I got up at 4:30 AM to make buttermilk biscuits for teenagers who come to our house every morning at 6. I had to look through a number of websites to find a “good” recipe. Since I am trying not to eat bread-like things for a while, I don’t know how they turned out except that of 17 biscuits I made, four were left over! I look forward to trying your recipe. Best wishes…and thanks for the contest.

  417. Your website looks beautiful! Congrats on 5 years.

  418. I will tell you that you’ve saved breakfast at this house with your oatmeal pancake mix! We’ve been having them every day for a week and my boys love them, so thank you!!

  419. I kind of freaking love you and your website. I make something from here at least once a day. No joke. Just ask my thighs.

  420. Right now I’m wishing I had a big pizza stone for the bottom of my oven.

  421. Thanks for all the recipes over the years. I’m always excited to see what you post!

  422. Your new sight looks great!! I use at least two or three of your recipes a week. I make your chocolate peanut butter oatmeal cookies way to much!! Thanks for all the great recipes.

  423. Give said the little stream as it hurried down the hill. I would love to be one of three to be given that Panini griddller. I love your site and have passed it on to may friends. I not only enjoy the recipes you share with us, but love to read what you have to say and love your photography. Thank you for your hard work!

  424. Yum, that reminds me of a sandwich that would be so good made in a panini press!! It had provolone, banana peppers I think, dijon mustard, a bunch of goodness yum!

  425. I really enjoy the recipes you share, so many have become favorites at our house. The redesign looks great!

  426. I honestly was just looking at this yesterday from your favorite things list. One of the 5 things I wanted!!! What I really want and need now is a dining table/chairs! Our dining room is totally empty.

  427. I LOVE your blog and recipes! This panini griddler looks great!

  428. Mel! The new site is amazing! Makes me happy! I’ve got some of your deliciousness queued up in our meal plan and can’t wait to try them! I’ve been running around like a crazy lady today to find rock salt (you would think it would be THAT difficult in western PA) to make your Rock Salt Roast chicken tonight. My amazing husband stopped at the mom and pop hardware store and brought it home over lunch. SCORE! Torn between the candy apple pie and Eskimo bars for dessert tomorrow with friends. Might have to do both. Thanks for being a breath of fresh air and bring new life to my kitchen. Love you!

  429. I just want to tell you that I’m pretty sure Wisconsin isn’t as good without you here.

  430. Love the new website! You are the reason I can now make bread at home πŸ™‚ Thank you!

  431. Panini press would be so fun!

  432. I just added glass storage containers to my birthday list. That’s probably boring to most people but since we’re buying our first home, I’ll finally have a kitchen big enough to store them!

  433. Love the website and recipes, keep doing what you do best!!!!!

  434. A updated kitchen – complete with cabinets that don’t have stickers peeling off, floor that is not laminate and an oven with features (interior light would be nice)!

  435. I LOVE your blog! I want you to publish a cookbook, and I also desperately want an espresso machine!!!!

  436. There are those who eat to live. Personally, I’m a live to eat girl. Thanks for sharing your talents and, of course, your wonderful food ideas so I can continue to live to eat. We should enjoy our food! Congrats on the new look. It’s great!!

  437. You’re my go-to site for meal planning. Whenever I make one of your recipes for a family/friends gathering they always ask for the recipe and I sent them straight to your site. And then they get hooked, too. It’s a vicious cycle, really (in the best way, of course). Oh, and I’d love this griddle/grill/press thing, pretty please!

  438. A new kitchen! (Hey, that’s within reason, right?) But seriosuly, I would LOVE one of these little guys because my griddle is almost done for!

  439. Congratulations on your new site… looks great!

  440. Happy Thursday! Love the new look!

  441. Hi Mel! Thank you for putting together my favorite food blog! I trust all your recipes and love that you take the time to take pictures and test these wonderful recipes out before posting! I also want to thank you for keeping things so real and never letting this blog change the unique, endearing person you are.

  442. Love your recipes!!

  443. I would love a Food Processor!!!!! I finally got a KitchenAid mixer 3 years ago, and a food processor is next on my list. The Panini maker is on that list also. So winning this would be great, hopefully my dh will get me the Processor for Mother’s day!!

  444. I really want a panini press – it has been on my wish list for quite sometime.

  445. Tell you anything I want to tell you or tell you what I want? I want…a vacation somewhere tropical and all-inclusive. I want to tell you that I really enjoy your website and it looks fabulous!

  446. I like your website redesign. It looks very fresh, clean and inviting. And I really like the recipes you post. As do my grateful family.

  447. Oooh nice! Nice giveaway, nice new look! πŸ˜€ I’d love another 500 square feet to live in (we live in 550 now). That’s not too much to ask, is it? LOL! But I’m totally willing to sacrifice some precious storage space for this panini press if I win. Been wanting one for a long time!

  448. Love your blog! I have enjoyed so many recipes, i think more recently the shredded ham at Easter! Great giveaway! ( fingers crossed!)
    Take care,

  449. Thanks for all your recipes–they are lifesavers.

  450. First of all, I love your site and recipes. I love how things are realistic for larger families. Recently, I’ve been re-learning how to feed my body in the proper portions and proportions (of fats, carbs, and proteins). I eat a lot of lean meats, but have had a hard time transitioning to cooking that way. I’m now making it my personal goal to combine the two things.

  451. I’d love a panini maker!

  452. Love the new site, Mel! And, even though you warned us, I tried to get on last weekend to find something to have for dinner. I was lost without you!

  453. I would love a vitamix! I hear great great things about them and since my died (well over a year ago) I’ve been using my immersion blender/food processor for everything! I’m kind of getting sick of it πŸ™‚

  454. Love the new look of your website..and as always, lovin’ the recipes you share. I just had surgery late last week, but hoping to be back in the kitchen soon:)

  455. I would love to have a Bosch mixer or a Wheat grinder!

  456. Your recipes get me through the “dinner blues” and I love to share your blog with my friends who struggle with it, too! Thank you!

  457. I just wanted to say that I’ve been visiting your site since its very early days and I can’t thank you enough for all the recipes and tips I’ve learned from you!! I had to start keeping my recipes in a boot sized shoe box because they were all printed out from your site! (I really will get around to organizing them in a binder….someday). I’ve sent countless people to your site after recipe requests…they all think I’m a fabulous cook- but really, I’m just good at following your directions!! πŸ™‚ Congrats on your anniversary and thank you for all you do!!!

  458. I have to echo the people who said they want a KitchenAid stand mixer, because I have been lusting after one of those for four years. But I also really want this panini press. My husband is a paramedic who works 24 hour shifts, and I pack his lunches. He has complained that the bread gets soggy/stale during his shifts and the sandwiches become useless. I think pressing and toasting them will solve that little problem, and a cold panini is almost as tasty as a warm fresh one!

  459. I grew up on fast food and take out; because of you, my kids don’t have to! My husband and I went from never eating at home to having home cooked meals every night. Now that we have a toddler and a baby, our decisions and lifestyle are something we think about everyday. We’re happier, healthier, and thankful. The time you spend doing this makes a difference – at least to our family.

  460. Mel, can I tell you how excited I am about this. Kitchenware gets me SO EXCITED. Buying a new spatula is like Christmas morning. I just want to tell you thank you for all the time and energy and work you put into providing us with trustworthy recipes to feed our families. There are so many recipe websites out there that it’s almost too much, so as soon as I came across yours I forgot about all the rest and made yours my homepage! And even if I don’t win this panini, I’ll still keep my homepage! πŸ™‚

  461. I have wanted a panini press, but haven’t gotten one yet.

  462. I just want a second bathroom.=)

  463. I like the new layout!!

  464. Love your site….great stuff on it πŸ™‚

  465. I’ve been doing a health challenge since Saturday called Feel Great in 8 (weeks). It has been great but I realize I need more healthy snack options and sweet fix options. Gotta have something to soothe that sweet tooth, but hopefully healthy! Super excited to find some great recipes on your blog!

  466. I really love your website. I get pretty much all of my recipes from here. Love it! Yay for giveaways!

  467. I would love warmer weather!

  468. Love the website and would love to win!!! Couldn’t do dinner time without you! Congrats on 5 years!

  469. When I get into a cooking rut, I always go to your website for a new family friendly dinner idea. And I have never been disappointed.
    I think you are swell.

  470. never made a panini

  471. I want to tell you that I own every appliance known to man, except a panini press. So please pick my comment so I have one!! πŸ˜‰

  472. Love your site! And paninis!

  473. I would love the Panini press – actually had one on my Xmas list this year & no dice. I just wanna say though I live in Canada so if you don’t ship to here..totally understandable. I love the new website & keep the receipes coming!

  474. Love the new look. I’m thinking I need to get one of these. Great Harvest is getting expensive.

  475. I want the school year to be over! I am so ready to have my kids to myself and to not have to share them with school. Bring on summer vacay baby!

  476. Your recipes have been a hit with my family! They think I’m such a good cook! πŸ™‚ Thank you for your blog! I look forward to it seeing it in my “mailbox”!

  477. To be able to afford a plane ticket to my best friend’s wedding!

  478. Giveaway! I’m glad the blog is back up and running. I didn’t realize how much I relied on it until I was planning meals Sunday night and couldn’t check it! It looks great!

  479. I would love warmer weather!

  480. I would actually have room to store this when my new kitchen remodel is finished! So great. Thanks, love all your recipes.

  481. I really want those biscuits… New site looks great!

  482. Love this blog, keep up the great work and amazing recipes!

  483. Congratulations on the new blog design and thank you for all of your wonderful recipes. This is an awesome giveaway, we love Panini sandwiches at our house too.

  484. Congratulations on 5 years and on your new, fabulous blog redesign! I would love to have a new designer handbag or a new KitchenAid stand mixer… I would certainly love to have the sandwich press also! πŸ™‚

  485. Great new website – thanks for making down to earth homemade food using down to earth ingredients. I am VERY land locked and have limited resources, living in Western ND – so appreciate everything you are doing πŸ™‚

  486. I would love a cookbook with all your recipes in it…your site is an automatic go to when I don’t know what to make for supper, etc. Thanks for the inspiration!!

  487. Mel, you are awesome!!! You are my #1 go to site for figuring out what to make for dinner (or dessert, or breakfast, or because I’m bored or because I haven’t been here for a couple of days, or to see if you have posted anything new, or because I like to stalk you). Thanks for being such a great inspiration for the past three+ years.

  488. Love the new design. I visit your site everyday and always find something to try!

  489. Your new site design is beautiful! Congrats on your blog-iversary!

  491. What a great new look! Congrats on your success…I love all your posts. This giveaway is awesome…I’ve always wanted one!

  492. Love Panini’s! I have been using a brick covered with tin foil to make mine – so a panini grill would be fabulous!!!

  493. Love your site and your recipes!! Use them all the time and congrats on all your milestones πŸ™‚

  494. I love the new website. I come here daily and use your recipes ALL the time. This is my go-to site for all things food. Thanks for keeping it going and sharing all of your food love.
    You go girl!

  495. I want a healthy baby

  496. Hey, how’s it going? Love your website! Keep it up!

  497. Love the blog, and I also love panini. Sadly, I don’t eat panini often, because I don’t own a panini maker.

  498. I really want a panini press! (No, really, I think about it all the time… lol) Well… and a vacation, but that’s even more of a need than a want. πŸ˜‰

  499. Thanks for all you do for all of us, your followers! My want? Sunshine, to boost our spirits!

  500. I could use a makeover. I’ve lost about 55 pounds and need some new clothes. I could also do with a pedicure and a massage.

  501. WOW!!!! The redesign looks great!!!!! I would love to learn how to make paninis!!!!! :o)

  502. I’m really enjoying your posts and have found some new things there. Good job on the hard work!

  507. I have made three of your recipes in the last two days (best baked manicotti, island grilled chicken, and confetti rice and bean salad) and all three were so, so, so good. This is nothing unusual however, since it happens basically every week πŸ™‚ I think I have half your recipe index bookmarked haha! Thanks for the fun givaway!

  508. A dehydrator (Excalibur to be exact)… oh, and a Panini Griddler! πŸ™‚

  509. Favorite recipe ever – easy chicken tacos with all that cilantro!

  510. I love your new site design, its so cute. I wish I had something witty to say…alas I do not

  513. I like your new website to go along with your great recipes. Thanks for the contest.

  514. LOVE your new makeover! I am crazy about your recipes.

  515. Well, my latest Mel’s kitchen cafe news is that I just ordered 3 bread pans. I have 2 already, so now I can make 5 loaves (as you have suggested works for you) and hope to make my family’s bread from here on out. Hurray for your post and encouragement through your blog in this effort. Thanks!! Also, just made the quinoa and ham bites and the result was an ecstatic husband. Thanks, love the new design and congrats on 5 years!! You have been a huge help to me, I think I have been following for at least 4 years.

  518. Hi Mel! I’ve been using your website for a few months only but am completely dependent on it for meal plans! I made a resolution of trying one new recipe a week in 2013 and so far have kept it using mainly your blog! It’s awesome!

The one thing I would love most after the panini grill is a Le Creuset Dutch oven, I dream about them at night I want one so bad!!!

    Keep up the great work!

  519. I want my family to be HAPPY and CLOSE!

  520. What I want is to figure out how to get my kids excited, or even willing, to try new foods! It is my goal to have them graduate from high school willing to eat something besides pizza and chicken nuggets!

  521. I love your new site. It looks clean and well organized.

  522. I want my daughter to be healthy again. And I want her to hurry up and get here for her summer break so that I can make delicious meals for her (many recipes culled from this, my favorite foodie site). Panini maker or no, we’ve already gotten so much from you, Mel!

  523. Your’s is the first site I check when looking for recipes…they all seem to be winners! The new web design is fast and stream lined…very nice to navigate.

  524. I love your blog. Your recipes are fantastic and I find myself relying on them quite often. My hubby loves all of your recipes that I have made.
    Thank you so much!!

  525. A Panini maker:) or a maid/cook/housekeeper

  526. Love the new site…and the panini press! πŸ™‚

  527. My husband makes a panino every day for lunch. I would love to have a panini maker to give to one of our daughters — might be hard to decide which one out of the three to give it to! Love your website. I made your Heath Bar cake to take with a bereavement meal and the family loved it. Thanks!

  528. Can I just say how much I L.O.V.E the redesign of your site ;-). It’s simple, clean and beautiful…just like you ;-). Thanks for your blog…you should win an award really…for saving all of us other mom’s who don’t know what in the world to cook (truth be told we don’t feel like it AT ALL)….then something magical happens, we look at your blog and we’re transformed into a super mom…a mom who WANTS to cook…now that, my dear friend is a true MIRACLE!!! Thank you from the bottom of all those who I feed hearts and stomachs, including my own. πŸ™‚

  529. Oops I forgot to include something that I want! I want to travel to Paris, eat all the yummy french food I want, and never gain a single pound for all the eating! I guess the panini press will suffice.

  530. I love paninis! I have some new soup recipes that would be perfect with a warm sandwich!!

  531. Yay! I am such a picky eater (usually just meat and cheese on a sandwich) that I really could add a little something extra with the press πŸ™‚

  532. Love your website! Don’t know how you have the best recipes for everything, but you do.

  533. I love your recipes and so do my kiddos!

  534. I think that 90% of my recipes come from your website. Whenever I make anything new (which is at least once a week) I turn to your site first! …And I almost never go anywhere else because I find exactly what I need! 544. Love your new website (although I loved your prior website as well)!!
Anything that I would want…. Well, this may sound like a “Miss America” answer but World Peace. But more importantly here in the USA, a severe decrease to gun violence.
OK, boring, I know, … Oh and also for a mild summer.
Thanks so much for doing what you do!!

  545. I love your site. Such great go to meals! I make the chocolate mousse torte every year for my husband’s birthday!

  561. I want some more energy. Pregnancy #4 is wearing me out. Don’t know how you did #5. You’re amazing. Thanks for the chance to win.

  562. I’d love to have my basement finished. Just got the estimate and it made gasp. But I’d also love a Kitchen Aid stand mixer.

  563. Love your site! I want a food processor. Much easier to use than a blender…

  564. Thank you – to you and your fun site! I am overcoming the fear of homemade bread and pretzel making! You are my “go-to” for everything. After sharing your site with some friends, we’ve noticed lots of other sites say they got, or adapted their featured recipe from you!

  573. A full day to myself to cook all day!

  574. I love the new site, it’so pretty! I would love a cleaning fairy… seems I spend way to much time playing with my baby. My house is a hot mess sometimes because of that! Worth it in my book. πŸ™‚
