Winner of the Bosch!
Even though I said the contest would close Friday, I made an executive decision based on the overwhelming response and decided to buck my own rules and announce a winner today.
Firstly, let me say, I loved reading the comments. And dude, I can’t believe all of you who said stuffing was your favorite holiday food! Not that I have a problem with that. I don’t. I’m just surprised. There must be some mean stuffing recipes out there.
Secondly, I had to give my husband a lecture that he was not allowed to enter contests on this blog. What would he do with a Bosch anyway? Probably pawn it and buy fly-fishing gear. Plus, his comment was downright insulting. Hot dogs on the 4th of July for his favorite food? And here I thought I had converted him into a food snob.
Thirdly, it was amazing to read of all the traditions you have and recipes that have been passed down from grandmothers and mothers and aunts and uncles. Seriously, it was magical reading all of your responses. I love the feeling behind food – the emotions it brings and memories it conjures. Magical, that’s what it is.
After reading through the comments, it made me want to write another executive order and force all of you to send me your recipes. Talk about a wealth of tried-and-true holiday foods!
Anyway, on to the winner…
#230 – Stephanie
I’ll send you an email and we’ll get this fabulous machine on it’s way to you.
Thanks to everyone who entered! You are simply awesome.

How sweet are you for this giveaway! I’ve been saving for a Bosch; with my SAHM’s salary I’ve got, say, 20 years or so more until I have enough! 🙂
I love the entire Thanksgiving meal. If I had to choose one element it would be my granny’s cheese ball recipe. It’s really nothing special, but the memories it brings back make it all the more delicious.
Hmm…I don’t think it was me because she hasn’t email yet. I’m still holding out hope!
Wish it was me too!! Good luck to the Lucky Stephanie
I hate I missed the giveaway.. Oh well maybe next time. This time of year is great because I feel as if I can put pumpkin in everything. Just the other day I made a Pumpkin Green Monster smoothie. It was amazing. http://ashandlewplus2.com/2010/09/27/pumpkin-green-monster/ Have a great day Ashlee

How did I miss the Bosch post? I am so bummed. That’s okay, Stephanie will enjoy it very well I’m sure. I would love it if you did a post of favorite holiday recipes from readers, that would be awesome.

Have fun with your new toy Stephanie!

Congratulations Stephanie! 🙂
Is stuffing similar to savory bread pudding?
Congrats Stephanie! What a great giveaway and prize 🙂 Enjoy your new toy!
Congrats Stephanie! Enjoy your new Bosch!
Stuffing- oh yes- my dh’s favorite too! His uses chestnuts and sausage and raisins and the holiday’s are all about stuffing for him. If you haven’t heard of this I can pass it along, but as someone stated- it’s so individual what folks like when it comes to stuffing. 🙂 Your comments about your husband are funny. Funny that he entered! Sounds like my husband!
I actually had a question about your eggrolls. Do you saute the filling at all before? Or is the onion and cabbage and whatnot raw when you put it in the wrappers?
Thanks.
I HATE stuffing! 🙂
Hey Mel!
I think the reason that people feel strongly about stuffing, is that stuffing can vary SO widely! the stuffing my husband grew up with, and the one that is his favorite is his grandmothers. she bakes it for a long time in a 9×13 pan, to the point where you can cut it into VERY square blocks, and it’s extremely dry. his whole family LOVES it! it blows my mind!! My mom’s stuffing has to be scooped with a spoon, and it’s EXTREMELY moist, almost juicy, and has a STRONG sage flavor. Husband thinks my mom’s stuffing is gross!!
so, I think that’s why people feel strongly about it…just my two cents!!
Nope, wasn’t me! Congratulations to the Stephanie that won! 🙂
I don’t know which # I was, either! Don’t know which Stephanie it is. 🙂 Waiting with excitement!
Congratulations, Stephanie!
hmm…i don’t know which # my comment was. I hope I’m the Stephanie she means! 🙂
Good for you Stephanie! Congratulations and have fun! 🙂
Congratulations Stephanie! Enjoy your new machine.
