Six {More} Recipes the World Forgot
Last month I shared Six Recipes the World Forgot, and lucky for anyone in a recipe rut (recipe ruts are the worst!), today, I’m here to share six more. These little gems have gotten lost amidst the other hundreds of recipes here and since I’m all about recipe equality, I have highlighted these winners for all the world to see (click on the picture to go to the recipe or right click and open in a new tab/window). Each of these recipes are eaten and loved and sighed about often at my house. They are totally worth your time. Promise.

Mel, I am having trouble a couple of days now printing from your site. I just printed the Sugar Gems recipe (which has the new print format), but I cannot print from the old style print function (with our without picture). When I hit print, it brings me to some Google Doc screen where I have to enter my email and password. I don’t know what this is. Is there any global problem, or do you think it is just me? Thank you.
The magical layered brownies and the choco-orange muffins have been unforgettable favorites in this house, can’t wait to try some of the others!
I’ve made that spinach artichoke dip countless times since finding it here and it’s a hit every time. My boyfriend requests it all the time and my friends adore it. Thank you thank you thank you for the best dip of all time!!!!! 🙂
yay! last time you did this i totally scored with that barley chili you posted. these all look wonderful!
I have not been following your blog for too, too long, so I have missed out on many recipes! I spend hours looking through your index on a regular basis, but it is so hard to choose a few to attempt when they all look good. When you highlight a few like this, it makes the decision process easier, and today is the perfect day to do it because I go shopping on Saturday. This is a great idea. Thanks!
those magical layered brownies…oh my goodness…look wonderful
Hey Mel–I didn’t forget about that Indian Butter Chicken. That is on a monthly rotation in my menu! That mixture of spices is just awesome and super flavorful. Taking leftovers of that into the office always makes my coworkers jealous. 🙂
Our rediscovered recipe for this week is your perfect chocolate chip oatmeal cookies. I threw in 3/4 cup whole wheat flour and blended it ultra fine in the blender with the oats. SO GOOd! They turned out perfect, I mean not flat or crunchy but literally picturesque. then they tasted so good, and now even one day later they are that perfect chewy not crunchy, and also not that eerie from a package chewy, just natural and real and delicious. Thanks for so many great recipes! I use your site all. the . time.
Just so you know, those magic layered brownies have DEFINITELY not been forgotten in our house ;). Thank you for all your delicious recipes. I rarely comment, but literally make a “Mel recipe” at least three times a week. My husband refers to you as “my good friend, Mel” 🙂
I don’t comment very often but I have tried MANY of your recipes and they are ALWAYS a hit and delicious!! Thanks for the wonderful, quality recipes you share!
I love your “Easiest Brownies in the World” brownie recipe. Do you think the browned butter frosting and glaze layers from the “Magical Layered Brownies” recipe would work on top of those brownies as the base layer?
kimzy22 – I’m sure that would work – the Easiest Brownies aren’t quite as dark and decadent as the brownies in the Magical Layered brownie recipe but if you prefer that brownie base, it’s definitely worth a try.

I love that spinach dip!!
Those Magical Layer Brownies are divine!!! I have got to make them again soon!
I was looking at some of your Best recipes. I saw the whole wheat oatmeal chocolate chip recipe. Have you ever tried making them with all whole wheat and sucanat instead of white sugar? They are wonderful. I use a recipe from Bread Beckers where I got my start on grinding my own wheat.
Mmmm! We love Indian Butter Chicken!!! Those muffins look like a must-try!
Thanks!
Love that you are doing this. I made several of your last ones, so good! Thanks!
Hi Mel-
Thanks for the great website. I really enjoy trying new things, but there are still a handful of old standby recipes that , when I make them, its like seeing an old friend again. My family likes the things I’ve made from your website. I’ve also used your menu plans, and they have really helped me have an organized grocery list, and less panic trips to the store. I appreciate the time and energy you put unto this.
Have a great day-
