Snapshot Saturday: Baby Bedhead
Get a load of this little girl and her bedhead. If there is any indication I am a mom of {mostly} boys, it is the state of Cam’s hair any given day. I try. I really do. I even have used many of your suggestions. But alas, I have a hard time committing to a bow-in-the-hair-every-day, so she usually channels her inner Mercer Mayer critter look alike and we roll with it.
I came downstairs after the above bedhead incident and saw her all prettied up with a real, live clip in her hair (and a new t-shirt thanks to a cracker mishap). I nearly fainted. The culprit? Her very nice daddy who has probably put more bows in her hair than I have over the course of the last 11.75 months. We make a good team, he and I. Guess I know who’ll be french braiding Cam’s hair in about 10 years (wait, is the french braid, like, so last summer? you probably ought to let me know that asap).

Such a sweet picture! She is too cute!!! Haha, the mercer mayer comment was hilarious. :-). I still LOVE love love your blog and use it for lots of our meals!! Keep up the great work girl
When you are that cute does it matter if you have a little bed hair? I think not!
My friend, be grateful that is isn’t also CURLY!!!!
Oh, how is it possible to look like an angel and an imp at the same time? 🙂
p.s. I think French braids are still in!
Oh she is so yummy! My guess is French braids are in since my near 6 year old is begging me to learn so she can wear it like some of the other girls at school.
I cannot believe Cam has that much hair! Hailey is WAAY behind. I don’t even try to put barretts in her hair in fear that I might accidentally tear out a few precious strands 🙂
Hehe! I am totally the same kinda mom. I have 2 girls and do their hair the same way everyday. Just a little side pony on the top that brings their bangs out of the face. Love clippies too! The little piggie tail help keep in any cute bows. We’ve lots A.L.O.T. of bows over the years. I’m really excited about your new site!!
She is so adorable! I love that face! My oldest baby girl is 21 now, so it warms my soul to see baby bed heads! Thank you for sharing your sweet family with all of us!
ahhhhh that is the sweetest bedhead ever!
Daddy’s little girl!! I was the baby girl after two boys, and my father doted on me until the day he died!!
Two things:
1. The french braid is still very in, and I’m sure she’ll look adorable in what ever way she winds up having it done &
2. The photograph of you and your daughter is quite cute, she has your nose! (as cliché as that may sound) 🙂
Love that picture of you and your girl!!
Adorable!
Hi Mel, loved the pictures of you and your sweet little one. I have one suggestion about the hair…cut it. It will change the whole texture of her hair. I know people like to have their little ones “natural” but getting her a hair cut short will have it growing in thick and courser and it will grow faster too. Even just a trim of bangs and the back will change it completely. (At least this has been my experience).
Awwww! I love the pictures! Pure sweetness! Love seeing you and your daughter together! Thanks for sharing them.
Wow — does she look like you, albeit you are not chubby cheekers! I’m here to tell you that there is hope for her because your hair as awesome 🙂
Hi Mel-love the bed head! I could take a picture of my youngest daughter everyday with bed head! It creates character! She does have her hair done if we leave the house, but she gets to do what she wants at home! I have 3 girls and this last fall we were finally blessed with a boy! My first thought was, no MORE bows, braids, pony/piggy tails, etc.!!! As Cam gets older, please take a look at this site, http://www.cutegirlshairstyles.com! It has been a life saver for me. Now I just need a site to teach me how to get their hair done and be on time to wherever we need to be! Best of luck!
She is too adorable! I kinda like the bedhead look – gives her attitude:)
My baby girl who is now 32 had the same problem with her hair in the mornings, it was like cotton candy. Granddaughter has the same thing, I read use a satin pillow case and it really helps.
Hey Mel!
Its been so long since I’ve talked to you! I just love snapshot Sat. I’ve been living off your site for dinners and desserts so I feel like I’m actually in tune with how you guys are doing. Take care and hopefully I’ll actually get time to call you soon!
PS Nick is celebrating his first Communion, and I was wondering what time you’ll be bringing his cake? 🙂
Chrissy 🙂
My youngest daughter went through a period when her hair was like that! Actually, hers stuck straight out. No matter what I did, it stuck straight out (looked like she’d stuck her finger in an outlet). As she got older and her hair got heavier, it started to behave.
Mel…love you as always. Miss you guys!
She is growing so fast! I think the hair is adorable. Reminds me of my daughter at that age. I love snapshot Saturdays, especially the candid shots.
Too cute!!! Had boys so never got to do much with hair. However, we now have a great grand daughter so I hope I had have fun with hers. She doesn’t have too much right now.
What a sweet, sweet face that baby has! Who needs tidy hair when you have those big, beautiful blue eyes? Love your blog Mel, and check it daily.
I love her disheveled look! But yes, it´s nice for ladies to be all prettied up from time to time. The question is, does she leave the clip in place or does she hate it?! Have a great weekend Mel!
Bedhead is soooo cute on her!
Definitely learn how to french braid if you’re not in to doing her hair everyday! I have two girls (ages 2 and 3) and braids are awesome because they can stay in for days. It’s a great, low maintenance way to keep the hair off their faces.
Hah! I feel your pain! I have six boys and one daughter, at the end, and I am clueless! I loved your “channeling” comment, made me LOL this morning 😉
Hi Mel! I love your blog and try new recipes from it weekly! It’s awesome! Things always turn out great and so tasty! Your daughter is adorable! Keep up the great work!
As the mom of two girls, my children looked just like your daughter until they could do their own hair!
