Tender Grilled Pork Chops
With three simple ingredients in the marinade, these tender grilled pork chops are bound to become a summer (or year-round!) favorite!
Goodbye, dry pork chops!!
This is pretty much the only way we cook pork chops. The pork chops are tender, flavorful and so, so juicy!

A Simple Marinade
The marinade for these incredible pork chops consists of just three ingredients:
- oil
- soy sauce
- steak seasoning
You can use a store bought steak seasoning (like Montreal) or you can make your own.
Homemade Steak Seasoning: 2 tablespoons paprika, 2 tablespoons freshly ground black pepper, 1 tablespoon kosher/coarse salt, 1 tablespoon garlic powder, 1 tablespoon onion powder, 1 tablespoon coriander, 1 tablespoon dill, 1/2 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes. Combine all the spices together and store in an airtight container.
What Kind of Pork Chops Are Best?
I use boneless pork loin chops for this recipe. It helps to use pork chops that are at least 1/2-inch thick for maximum juiciness.
It’s much easier to over cook thin pork chops and end up with dry pork, so look for thicker chops for this recipe.
How to Cook the Pork Chops
I almost always grill these pork chops. They turn out perfect every time (as long as I don’t over cook them!).
You can try throwing them in an air fryer, pan fry them, or cook in the oven on broil.
The key is to cook them just until an instant-read thermometer registers 145 degrees F at the thickest part. Remove them from the heat, tent with foil, and let them rest 10 minutes before serving.
These pork chops are so delicious they force me to grill rain, snow or shine. We enjoy them year round!
And they are the perfect dish to serve to company. Talk about a simple show stopper!

What to Serve With This
These pork chops would pair beautifully with a simple orzo pilaf, scalloped potatoes, pasta salad, or even a classic baked potato (or try this unique version!), not to mention anyone of these tasty salads.
FAQs for Tender Grilled Pork Chops
I usually use 1/2- to 1-inch thick
I set my pellet grill to 375 for medium heat.
I marinate them and then put them in the freezer. I pull them out in time to defrost in the refrigerator (so usually 24 hours-ish) and then put them on the grill when they are defrosted.
Tender Grilled Pork Chops
Ingredients
- 4 boneless pork loin chops (see note)
- ¼ cup olive oil
- 2 ½ tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon steak seasoning, store bought or make-your-own (see note)
Instructions
- Mix olive oil, soy sauce and steak seasoning together in a small bowl.
- Add the pork chops to a large ziploc bag or flat dish and pour the marinade ingredients over the top. Refrigerate and marinade for at least 3 hours and up to 24 hours.
- Heat a charcoal, propane, or pellet grill to medium and grill the chops 6-8 minutes per side (depending on how thick they are) until an instant-read thermometer registers between 145 and 155 degrees F.
- Remove the chops from the grill, tent them with foil, and allow them to rest for 5-7 minutes. Slice the chops across the grain and serve.

Looks fantastic and can’t wait to to.. but pork can be eaten medium now (USDA recommends 145 internal temp for pork).. so the ‘cook til no longer pink’ doesn’t really apply anymore.. makes for a MUCH more tender chop, too! thank you for the awesome recipe!

This is hands-down the best pork chop marinade I have ever used! In fact, it is all I use now. I leave it on overnight and the chops taste like you ordered them at a restaurant. Eight to ten min per side on the grill ( don’t poke too many holes in them while they are cooking) & they turn out amazing. So glad I found this recipe!

I made these last night….and they were fantastic!! I made a pan sauce since my husband and I are partial to pan gravys for grilled meat but these did not need the sauce at all. The key is to not overgrill. This is a keeper.

For these grilled pork chops I live in a condo and cannot have a grill do you think I could bake/broil or use my George Foreman for these? If so please tell me what temp and how long. We loved this recipe. My bf is not a huge fan of pork chops and my parents are very picky about the spices used. There must always be enough flavor when making pork chops with them. I’ve got to say this was a crowd pleaser. We marinated 15 pork chops just changed the recipe accordingly and was perfect for a group bbq. I served with your cheesy potatoes and everyone loved the meal. Will continue trying more 🙂
BTW: I did marinate these overnight and they were still very good. They day I placed them in the marinate my hubby came home and offered to take us out for Mexican food. There was no way I was saying no to that! So I grilled them the next evening. No problem being in the marinate over 8 hours.

These were some of the moistest (is that a word?) Pork Chops ever! I used your recipe for homemade grill seasoning and it was delish. Next time to do something different I might add a 1/2 tbs of brown sugar to the marinade and see if that makes it kind of sweet and salty 🙂 Love your blog girl! These were a huge hit at my family reunion camping trip. I made the marinade in advance and just put the chops in zip lock bags the day I needed to cook them. They were really juicy and delish! I had a few left over (raw) and just left them in the ice chest until we got home. They cooked up great even after being in the marinade for 24 hours. Nice and juicy!

I don’t ever cook meat. (I’m not a bif fan), but my husband is. So I decided to make these tonight. I was like a lost kitten in the meat department trying to find this cut of pork. I thought I had it, till just now when I went to marinade it, I found a bone in each cut. Will it still work? I’m scared! 🙂
hayley – the pork will be just fine! Even with a bone in each cut, you can still marinade and grill these. Just watch cooking times – I’m not sure how it will vary with a bone-in chop, but I’m guessing not much. Good luck!

I was looking for something to make for dinner and I came across this recipe. I had pork chops in the freezer, we like all the ingredients, so I figured I’d give it a shot. Shelly – that’s the info that was passed to me by my sis-in-law, Ang, who gave me the recipe and I’m guessing that due to the makeup of the marinade, it might make the meat mush/too salty to leave it marinading overnight. As I type this, I’m guessing it is the too salty reason – since soy sauce can pack a punch in the salt department.
Use an Asian made Soy Sauce and not an American made Soy Sauce and you can marinate overnight.
I just realized you’re the genius behind sweet and sour chicken! That recipe should come with a warning! Once you make it, everyone you know will beg for you to make it again and again.
