Tender Grilled Pork Chops
With three simple ingredients in the marinade, these tender grilled pork chops are bound to become a summer (or year-round!) favorite!
Goodbye, dry pork chops!!
This is pretty much the only way we cook pork chops. The pork chops are tender, flavorful and so, so juicy!
A Simple Marinade
The marinade for these incredible pork chops consists of just three ingredients:
- oil
- soy sauce
- steak seasoning
You can use a store bought steak seasoning (like Montreal) or you can make your own.
Homemade Steak Seasoning: 2 tablespoons paprika, 2 tablespoons freshly ground black pepper, 1 tablespoon kosher/coarse salt, 1 tablespoon garlic powder, 1 tablespoon onion powder, 1 tablespoon coriander, 1 tablespoon dill, 1/2 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes. Combine all the spices together and store in an airtight container.
What Kind of Pork Chops Are Best?
I use boneless pork loin chops for this recipe. It helps to use pork chops that are at least 1/2-inch thick for maximum juiciness.
It’s much easier to over cook thin pork chops and end up with dry pork, so look for thicker chops for this recipe.
How to Cook the Pork Chops
I almost always grill these pork chops. They turn out perfect every time (as long as I don’t over cook them!).
You can try throwing them in an air fryer, pan fry them, or cook in the oven on broil.
The key is to cook them just until an instant-read thermometer registers 145 degrees F at the thickest part. Remove them from the heat, tent with foil, and let them rest 10 minutes before serving.
These pork chops are so delicious they force me to grill rain, snow or shine. We enjoy them year round!
And they are the perfect dish to serve to company. Talk about a simple show stopper!
With hundreds of five-star reviews, their popularity is deserved!
Here are a few rave reviews from people other than myself:
Michelle: Amazing! Best pork I’ve made in really long time and will be my go to! Thank you so much!
Barbara: Best pork chops. I have used this recipe many times and it is the only way I will make them. Previously my husband refused to have pork chops now he asks for them
Dawn Jean: I made this tonight on some pork tenderloin, I promised my husband that if it was dry that I would never make pork on the grill again…I’ll be making this again, it was delicious!
Erika: Spot on. Would not change one thing. Still tender with so much great flavor knowing my hubby eats everything well done. Will be making this every week but taking mine off sooner. Thank you for sharing this recipe with us.
What to Serve With This
These pork chops would pair beautifully with a simple orzo pilaf, scalloped potatoes, pasta salad, or even a classic baked potato (or try this unique version!), not to mention anyone of these tasty salads.

Well I am going to marinade tonight and grill tomorrow, review coming afterwards, hope to be pleasantly surprised, cuz in my experience pork chops on grill dry out too much!
Oh my goodness! These don’t get any easier–or more tasty! I always end up with dry pork chops no matter what I do. These are a game-changer for me–and my family devoured them! Thanks, Mel!
Wow absolutely fantastic chops! I’m an awful cook lol but I followed this recipe except baked at 400 for 20 min and the chops were wonderful! Will def make again!
Made these on the gas grill. Didn’t have dill (or red pepper, or coriander…I know. Shameface.) Used smoked paprika and thyme instead. Marinated in fridge 6 hours, then 1 hour countertop to bring temp back up before grilling. Flavorful and juicy! Even my chop hating toddler loved it. Will definitely use again. Thanks!
These were DELICIOUS !!! I didn’t have the Montreal Seasoning so used Mrs Dash Steak Seasoning which I had on hand. Will definitely make again.
Best pork chops. I have used this recipe many times and it is the only way I will m a them. Previously my husband refused to ha pork chops now he asks for them
I made this tonight on some pork tenderloin, I promised my husband that if it was dry that I would never make pork on the grill again…I’ll be making this again, it was delicious!
It would be helpful if you shared how thick yours were.
I usually use 1/2- to 1-inch thick
Yummy! So easy… definitely making this again!
These turned out delicious and tender! My dinner plans kept putting put off and these pork chops were sitting in the marinate for over 72 hours. They were perfectly fine and grilled up beautifully. I bought the thick sliced boneless pork chops from Costco and divided them in half.
I loved these so much that I’ve told others to try the recipe and everyone thinks they are great. Blind taste test I would say it was a tender steak!
How I’m making chips from now on. My husband said. These are the best pork chops I’ve ever had. Now I am actually buying pork chops…and just freezing them in this sauce. So easy. I just throw the ingredients in the bag…rub my hands together on the outside. Throw in the chops and done. Hardly any cleanup.
I used this recipe to cook 25 boneless pork chops for our church’s mission conference lunch. The recipe is easy to make and produces awesome results. The only thing I added was a quarter slice of lime to squeeze on their pork chop.
I used this recipe to cook 25 boneless pork chops for our church’s mission conference men’s lunch. Everyone really liked the end results.
The recipe is easy to make and produces amazing results.
These are very delicious! I used a little less soy as well, they were just a tad too salty with the steak seasoning I used ( I didn’t have the kind recommended). We love these!
This is a great marinade for these boneless pork chops. I couldn’t believe that three ingredients would make such flavorful, tender, and juicy chops. But sure enough, they were delicious.
I do not like pork chops. Never have. After trying this recipe, I LOVE PORK CHOPS!!!
Sadly, ours turned out tough and dry, despite following all of the directions carefully 🙁
Yum!
Just made the Zucchini Chocolate cake, what an easy recipe!!! Absolutely the best zucchini cake I’ve ever had!! Everybody try this! It’s Delish!!! Going to be my favorite Go to zucchini cake from now on!! Thanks for sharing!
This makes an awesome, tender, moist pork chop. When ever I make them everyone raves about them. Very good recipe
You can’t go wrong with these pork chops! Tender, juicy, and the marinade brings out all the flavor in these.
Didn’t add the salt. Soy sauce is plenty salty and this was still good.
These were the best tasting and juicy pork chops! The chops I cooked were thin but were not dried oit at all. I will definately use this recipe again!
Loved this recipe. Juicy and not dry. Real easy to prepare.
We love this recipe so much! It’s quick and easy (as long as I remember to do the marinade in the morning). I use low sodium soy sauce and Mrs. Dash steak seasoning and it’s delicious. Thank you for all your delicious recipes. I always go to your website first for any recipe I need!
My hubby is wanting me two make these twice a week now. I am ok with that because they are that good. Only thing I did differently is change it to low sodium soy sauce because of my high blood pressure otherwise would have left it just the way it is.
Perfect recipe!!!!
Spot on. Would not change one thing. Still tender with so much great flavor knowing my hubby eats everything well done. Will be making this every week but taking mine off sooner.
Thank you for sharing this recipe with us.
This marinade is perfection. I usually double the marinade to get it all well-coated. And I’ve used Montreal hamburger seasoning before (it’s all I had, and I was in a hurry to get marinating) with great success. This recipe made everyone in my family happy!
Did you ever end up trying this with either choos or boneless pork loin in the slow cooker? We don’t have a grill so would love to know!
Oops that’s pork chops* or boneless pork loin
It’s been a while, but I made it with a boneless pork roast in the slow cooker. I added a cup or so of broth (after I tossed in the meat and marinade) and cooked it on low for 8-9 hours. It was tasty!
Excellent marinade! Loved it, we will make it again!
I’m using my traeger. What temp is considered medium? 375?
Yep, that’s what I set my pellet grill to for medium heat.
This was the best pork chop marinade we’ve had in a long time! They turned out sooo good! I made two extra bags with marinade/chops and threw them in the freezer. Those ones turned out even better! Great recipe!
Thank you so much! These truly are delicious
and tender. Started the marinade at 9am put onto charcoal bbq around 6pm. Husband said best chops he had eaten in a long time.
Getting ready to make these for the first time. Very easy to marinade, but i don’t have the full time to do it. I hope a few hours will still make them delicious, and i will try the full time next time now that i am aware!
I made these pork chops using a cast iron griddle and they were tender and delicious. I never cook porkchoos again without this marinade. I marinated the chops for 9 hours.
This is a fantastic recipe! The chops are tasty and so tender! It worked perfectly!
This is the first recipe i clicked on while I was scrolling down google results for boneless pork chop marinades. I am pretty convinced I am going to try this. I usually use Dale’s deluted down a bit with water and lawrys seasoning but I have neither. But what I was wondering was if you poke your meat before putting them in the marinade. Most people I know do that to their steaks. I happened to have pork steaks once, did them just like I would steak and they came out absolutely amazing. Marinated for half a day, used my old square skillet my grandpa gave me, let them cook for a min or so on each side, then I cut them up into bite size pieces and let them finishing cooking a few minutes. I do the same with my steaks. But I’ve heard in the past your not supposed to poke the meat. So I was just curious if you did or if you had heard it shouldnt be done, etc. Not sure exactly if I’m going to cook them or let the guy here grill them. Maybe depend on how late he will be getting here after work. Lol anyways! Thanks!
Wonderful. My favorite for pork chops. Love it. Thank you.
Very good!
Funny that I should see this recipe today. I made boneless pork chops last night and my son actually groaned, lol! I have the worst luck, they always come out dry and tough. I will definitely give this one a try.
Very very good! These were some of the best pork chops I have ever had. My one issue was that it was a touch on the salty side but next time I am going to use low sodium soy sauce. Definitely going to be making these again.
I just made these and all I can say is wow. These are seriously the best pork chops I have ever made. I wasn’t expecting much from such a simple recipe, but it knocked my socks off.
These were tender, tasty, and delicious. Mixing it up for chops tonight again!
Fabulous. Probably the best way I’ve had pork chops
This was really good! I did have the Montreal steak seasoning so I made it exactly as said but doubled the recipe of marinade to cover my two thick boneless chops. I grilled them 8 minutes each side and then covered them in foil and let them rest for 5 minutes. They were very juicy and tasty…I had been worried they would be too salty but they were not. Previously I was well known for my tough, dry pork chops, haha! This recipe is a keeper for sure!
My family loves this recipe!
OMG Mel❗️I totally LOVED the marinated pork chops. The best I have honestly ever eaten❗️I am an avid cook but shy away from pork chops because they always come out dry & tough no matter how prepared.
Not so w your (Angela’s) recipe. Juicy, tender, & the flavor……..I’m wanting more now!
Your directions & suggestions were so on point. They were quick & easy. I fried them stove top on a non stick griddle.
Thank you so much❗️absolutely scrumptious❗️
*Delicious!* My favorite, and easiest, way to grill pork chops.
This is the most requested dinner at our home! Once, I didn’t realize until I went to marinate the meat that I had defrosted chicken breasts instead of pork so I subbed in Montreal Chicken spice and they were incredible! Now, we have two family favorites!! Thanks for keeping our six kids well fed 🙂 🙂
Thanks, Eleanore! Your last minute change sounds delicious!
Oh. My. Goodness.
I had pork steaks in need of cooking, didn’t want to have the dry meat I’ve been ending up with. Found this recipe, loved the simplicity of it. Doubled the marinade, using a smokey grill seasoning I had on-hand.
These were bone-in, and they came out AMAZING on the grill. Tender, flavorful, even my picky eater devoured his.
Thank you. Don’t know if I’ll make pork any other way.
What a great way to enjoy meat. Looks so healthy and I’m pretty sure the taste is superb. Can I just add one thing on the marinade – oyster sauce? It might add a bit of a flavor on the meat. Thanks for sharing, can’t wait to grill.
