Ingredients for Whipped Frosted Lemonade

Seriously, this recipe could not be easier. Like, don’t blink or you might miss it!

Four simple ingredients for frosted lemonade:

  • Ice cubes: nothing fancy here – regular ice cubes from the freezer will do the trick!
  • Heavy Cream: this ingredient gives the “whipped” taste and texture. We’ve subbed in half-and-half with good results, too.
  • Lemon Juice: the key is to use freshly squeezed lemon juice for the brightest, freshest taste. Don’t sub in bottled lemon juice.
  • Sweetened Condensed Milk: this powerhouse of an ingredient lends an extra boost of creaminess as well as the necessary sweetness to balance the tart lemon juice.

I know it may be mildly annoying to open a can of sweetened condensed milk and not use all of it, but the leftovers can easily be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week. OR, just make more frosted lemonade!

Flavor Variations

We’ve been making this frosted lemonade on repeat. In doing so, we’ve found that it is deliciously adaptable to other fruit combinations.

How to make other flavors of frosted lemonade: to make different flavor variations, replace 1/4 to 1/3 of the ice with frozen fruit, like frozen strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, huckleberries, and more!

We still have a few lingering bags of precious huckleberries in our freezer from picking them last summer. I’ve been hoarding safeguarding them, and after a lot of soul searching, I decided to use a vavluable 1/2 cup in a version of this frosted lemonade. It will live on as one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Incredible!

{My 13-year old would like me to inform you that she often whips this drink up on her own (and loves to do so when she has friends over), and her favorite variation is adding frozen strawberries!}

Quick Note About the Blender

This concoction will whip up much smoother and far easier in a high-powered blender, like a Ninja, Vitamix, or Blendtec. Unfortunately, I haven’t tried making it in a blender other than a Vitamix, so I can’t vouch for how it will turn out with a regular-powered blender.

If you don’t have a high-powered blender, start with less ice and add gradually depending on what the blender can handle.

This is such a fun summer drink! And because lemons and frozen fruit are year-round available, you can enjoy it anytime you need a refreshing little pick-me-up.

It has become a favorite treat for us, and I can’t wait for you to try it! 🍋
