Peanut Butter Cup Cheesecake Bars
These decadent, delicious, and extremely easy peanut butter cup cheesecake bars are the perfect combination of chocolate, peanut butter and cheesecake.
Oh my, were these ever good.
I snagged the recipe from Picky Palate and made them for a neighborhood BBQ. What a hit!
Not only are they decadent and delicious but they are extremely easy (helped out by a cake mix and peanut butter cups).
Isn’t that the best when something gets such rave reviews and only you know how easy it was to make?
Love it. And I love these…the perfect combination of chocolate, peanut butter and cheesecake. Yum!
Peanut Butter Cup Cheesecake Bars
Ingredients
Cake:
- 1 Devils food cake mix
- 1 large egg
- ½ cup (113 g) butter
Cheesecake Layer:
- 8 ounces (227 g) softened cream cheese
- 1 large egg
- ⅓ cup (71 g) sugar
- 10 regular-size Reeses Peanut Butter Cups, cut into little pieces
Topping:
- 1 cup (170 g) semi sweet chocolate chips
- 4 tablespoons heavy cream
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a 9×13 inch baking dish with tin foil. Spray with non stick cooking spray. Mix cake mix, egg and butter together then press into baking dish.
- Mix cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Stir in egg until well combined then stir in peanut butter cups. Pour over cake layer and bake for 30-40 minutes or until cheesecake is cooked through (it only took 30 minutes in my oven). Remove and let cool completely.
- Carefully lift bars out of dish using ends of foil. Melt chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl in 30 second intervals until melted through. Stir in heavy cream and stir until glossy smooth. Spread chocolate over cheesecake layer, cut into squares and serve.

Krista – I’m glad these brought in some money for the cub scouts!
So glad these were a success at the BBQ, they go over quite well here too! Something about chocolate! Thanks for posting the recipe! I always love checking your blog, your recipes are fantastic!
Molly – so glad you liked these! Peanut butter surprise in anything would be yummy (ok, almost anything!).
I’ve wanted to try these beauties out too! Yum! I may need to make a batch of these very soon. 🙂
Those look good!
Oh so delicious! I made these for a scout auction the other week and they sold for $8.00, for a plate of brownies, the highest of all the desserts there! Well worth trying…
Ok, I am DEFINITELY making those. They look like they won’t be good for my pregnancy weight though. Oh, well. I figure if you worry too much about how much your gaining, you’ll always hate being pregnant. 🙂
Liz – you make me smile! Thanks for your sweet comments. I’m so glad you like the recipes. Have you seen the great response to your broccoli cheese soup?? Awesome!
How do you stay so so skinny with all the divine meals/desserts you make? I’ve stopped cooking as much because I’ve completely blimped out and have to cut back on the crap. I’m impressed that you’re such an amazing cook…and can stay so thin!
OMG!! Not only are these easy, but they are DELISH!! Absolutely love them! They remind of a recipe (I used to have, but somehow lost long ago) that were chocolate cupcakes (or possibly brownie cupcakes) with a peanut butter cup surprise in the middle…yummy!
I think I am running out of adjectives to describe how fantastic your recipes are. Let me just say these are scrumdiddlyumptious! -Liz K.
