Snapshot Saturday
This past week, Brian and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary. Since the 10 year anniversary classically symbolizes sushi (huh, you didn’t know that? strange…), we celebrated by eating ourselves sick on delicious, take-out sushi for dinner while the boys gorged themselves on waffles. Candlelight sushi and waffle dinner, of course. That’s what 10 years does to you…you celebrate the anniversary family-style and love every minute of it. Brian sent me these beautiful flowers during the day – 10 yellow roses (my favorite color and the same flower in my wedding bouquet) each tied with a handwritten note of a milestone we’ve reached together in our 10 years. I bawled like a baby. It was so sweet and made me feel a little sheepish that all I gave him was a homemade card with a simple tagline on the front about kids and cake (this section of this post has been updated; I previously posted exactly what the card said on the front but it hurt many of your feelings and so I’ve deleted the specifics – it was never my intention to offend anyone and I’m sorry if I did!).
It has been a wonderful, busy 10 years…can’t wait to see what the next 10 years will bring!

The sweetest ever. Those are the best gifts. Wishing you another 50+ years of wedded bliss.
I love your blog and love this post. Congrats on 10 years and the 10 years in your future! I love the personality you show in all your posts and the FABULOUS recipes you have on here. My family thanks you too 🙂 I think some are too easily offended. I was overweight growing up and I thought the comment was super funny. 🙂 Thank you for adding a little laugh and some “food joy” into our lives. Don’t change! My husband and I are celebrating our one year anniversary in a few days! Here’s to more years of happiness! Thanks Mel! You are fabulous!
