Easy Blender Frozen Piña Colada
This 4-ingredient blender frozen piña colada is creamy, refreshing, and so delicious. You won’t believe how quick and easy it is to make!
Pro tip! Keep the simple ingredients on hand for this frozen piña colada recipe to whip up at a moment’s notice. It is a fantastic little drink to enjoy all summer long!
Ingredients Notes
- Cream of coconut: Cream of coconut is often found near the cocktail drinks or sometimes in the baking aisle or international foods aisle. It is not the same as coconut milk or coconut cream. Looks for packaging that specifically states “cream of coconut” – Coco Lopez and Goya are common brands. The ingredients will include sugar and coconut.
- Crushed pineapple: One 8-ounce can of crushed pineapple is used in the recipe. Don’t drain before using.
- Pineapple juice: One 6-ounce can of pineapple juice is used. You can also measure out 3/4 cup juice from a larger container.
- Heavy Cream or Half-and-Half: Either of these ingredients lends the creaminess that is so delicious in this frozen drink. I don’t recommend using milk as the drink will be more icy than creamy.
- Ice
How to Make This Easy Frozen Piña Colada
Are you ready for this?
- Add all the ingredients to a blender and process until smooth.
- For a thicker consistency, add additional ice and blend or drizzle in pineapple juice or cream to thin, if needed.
- Pour into glasses (optional: chill the glasses in freezer before serving) and serve immediately.
Talk about easy! If you love pineapple and coconut flavors, you’re going to love this refreshing, fun summer drink!
Flavor Variations + Tips
Change up the flavors by replacing part of the ice with frozen strawberries or frozen bananas.
➡️ For a bougie presentation, you can add a small triangle of fresh pineapple or toasted coconut to the drink.
➡️ These are my favorite colorful straws {aff. link} to use for fun drinks like this.
➡️ Any glass or cup will do, but I love these tall glasses {aff. link} and use them all the time (they come with clear straws, too).

Oh yes, these were so good and so easy to make on vacation!! And I was weirdly ecstatic to find someone had left behind a stack of large styrofoam cups in the condo so we could enjoy these outside! 🙂
Haha, that’s awesome! And definitely something I’d be weirdly excited about, as well. 🙂
This was sooo good! I struggled to find the cream or coconut, but Superstore international aisle came through (I’m from Saskatchewan). Could you please recommend the amount of rum to add?
Hi Andi! Glad you found the cream of coconut. I haven’t added rum to this and so I’m not sure I’m the best one to give input on that. Feel free to experiment, though!
These were a hit with the family! Perfect summer treat! Thanks Mel!
Yay! Thanks for letting me know!
whole family loved it!
Woohoo!
This is FABULOUS!! I subbed 2 cups frozen bananas for 2 cups of the ice…everyone loved it!!
I made it with bananas, too, and agree it is so good! Thanks for the comment, Suzanne!
How do you make it thicker? I tried adding more ice, I tried blending it for a while but it doesn’t have the thicker consistency that I prefer. The flavor is great but I wish the consistency was a little thicker.
Blending it too long may actually thin it out a bit, so try adding more ice to start and then blending just until everything is combined and the ice isn’t in chunks (it’s the ice that ultimately thickens this drink).
Yummy!! I was just thinking about my grocery list for our beach vacation next week and I’m adding these ingredients to the list because the condo has a blender!
Ooooh, great vacation drink for sure!
What can I use instead half and half? Something non dairy?
If you need a non-dairy alternative, you could try looking for non-dairy cream (I’ve seen it at some grocery stores).
I have sweetened condensed coconut milk would that be ok to use for the coconut cream? I have never used either, but I am guessing their texture is completely different.
Hi Julie – yes, I think you could sub in sweetened condensed milk for the cream of coconut (obviously will be less coconut flavor – although the sweetened condensed milk will likely bring about the same level of sweetness as the cream of coconut).
Perfect timing!! I’m at my daughter’s wisdom teeth extraction appointment now and this will be so nice to be able to make for her this week! Thank you, thank you!
Ah, good luck to your daughter!! (And you!)
