Hey, I love this freezer section! Thanks so much for compiling such a great list! I remember seeing on a few cookie or other dessert recipes that you froze the already baked cookies. I’m looking to make some freezable dinners (complete with desserts) for a friend having a baby. What desserts do you suggest to be good to freeze, already baked/cooked?? THANK YOU!
Hi Heidi – I freeze almost all of my cookies (especially the drop kind, like classic chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip oatmeal cookies, these favorite coconut chocolate chip oatmeal cookies of mine and many others). Almost all the cheesecakes on my site freeze wonderfully as well as the muffins and quick breads. Does that help a little?
That helps a ton!! Thank you so much for being so prompt and specific! I really, really appreciate it! I’ll be making a few of those for my friend and some for myself, too…making a day of baking!! 🙂
I’m trying the Brazilian Feijoada as a freezer meal. Do you soak the beans then put all the raw meat in a ziplock bag? Or cook, then freeze?
Hi Connie – on this particular meal, I cook it and then freeze it – it reheats so quickly for a super fast meal.
I had a recipe for Cabbage Balls, it had a layer of sour croute in the bottom of the cooker
Put the cabbage balls in over the croute and put tomato juice over it all , and cook about an hour & a half The meat balls were hamburger, rice garlic basal oregano and a few other spices. I have lost this recipe and would like to find at or a similar recipe like it. My family just loved them and I would like to get it or a similar one like this.
