My Favorite Appetizers + Most Popular Recipe of 2017
My favorite appetizers for any occasion and most popular recipes of 2017! Make sure you’ve tried them all!
Hello, hello!
I’m currently hunkered down in a cabin in Island Park ice fishing with the family.
And by ice fishing, I mean I’m staying cozy in the cabin keeping the hot chocolate warm and in great supply for the real, live ice fishermen/girls. That’s pretty much my idea of great ice fishing.
But I wanted to pop in really quickly with a fun post to let you know a) which appetizers I’m making for our appetizer feast this year (if we can actually make it back home without getting snowed in) and b) which recipe ended up being the most popular in 2017.
Hope your holidays have been epic! {Which basically means, I hope you’ve gotten lots of naps.}
And now…without further adieu, the most popular recipe I posted in 2017…
Instant Pot Mashed Potatoes!
This says a lot about how the world at large feels about both mashed potatoes and the Instant Pot.
A close second, and worth mentioning, is this vanilla buttercream frosting!
And since I’ve been blogging for 10 years now (more on that celebration in January!!), I thought it’d be fun to take a quick peek at what recipe, among the 1,000+ posted here has been the most popular over the last decade.
Tender Grilled Pork Chops! Such a simple recipe…but it has been enjoyed by thousands of people over the years.
Hope you have a wonderful week! See you next year (haha, I always love saying that).

We love the grilled pork chops!! I’d also like to see your top 10 favorite and most popular recipes!! Those are my favorite posts.
Fun? I am going to have to try that one. I have yet to master my insta pot. I am a really sad insta pot user.
Hey I wanted to share one of my favorite Christmas gifts (that I gave myself). I thought you might be interested since you bake and cook so much more than the average gal. You probably already have one of these. Anyway, It is the Norwex kitchen dish rag. It is the netted dishcloth. It is not one of their disinfecting ones. It works amazingly well for scrubbing dishes, but my favorite part is that it cleans the counter perfectly after rolling out dough (breads or cookies or any counter mess). It literally just wipes it all off, because it is netted it scrubs it. It is about $10. And I am not a norwex consultant so no money coming to me, I just love it. I love their kitchen dish rags too. It makes my counters shine…which makes me happy.
Here is a link if you want to watch a video on it. Seriously amazing! You need one if you don’t have one.

I have that net rag and I love it, April! It’s the only thing I use to scrub dishes.
Thank you so much for responding to my questions I had for the IP mashed potatoes. I made them to feed our family of 26 on Christmas and they were a HUGE hit! So many complements. Now everyone wants an instant pot & is checking out your recipes! Enjoy your time with your family!!
I would love love love a post of the top 25 recipes on your post – there are so many good ones sooooo many but it would be fun to see what everyone combined thinks are the best!! Thanks for all you do!
I second that idea!!!
I vote “Yay” for this, too.
I have made that Greek feta dip for our monthly birthday celebrations at work multiple times this past year. So yummy and so easy!!! Just got an instant pot for christmas. I am going to go back and review all of your recipes!!! Enjoy ice fishing!!
That feta dip is one of my favorite appetizers of all time! Glad you love it, too!
I would totally agree on this! I’ve followed you for years and those pork chops are a staple to our rotation. As well as every other recipe you create for us! Your recipes are the first place I go when I get a food assignment for a party or when I start my menu plans.
Thanks, Amy! That means a lot.
Love it! We have tendered grilled pork chops several times a month. They are a family fave that even my very picky 5 year old will eat. (He calls them steak!)
haha, that makes me laugh because regularly, my kids will say something like “this pork is DELICIOUS” and I’m all “uh, it’s chicken” 🙂
I would have sworn the most popular recipe ever was the sweet and sour chicken – but I love them all!
Thank you for your great work, it is apreciated by so many people around the world. You truly are amazing!
I kind of thought the same thing! That sweet and sour is pretty high up there, though. 🙂 Thank you!
